Yesterday, The Tree Tribe visited Victoria Park and had a wonderful morning learning about exotic plants, seeing some interesting animals, creating a collage about bees and planting plants to take home and nurture.

A huge thank you to Friends Of Victoria Park for the opportunity. 🌿🌷🪴🪻

This week we have been considering the question: Is it fair to judge others based on first impressions?
Have you ever judged anyone based on their first impression? And have you been proved wrong? Do you feel that you have ever been judged wrongly?

In History KS1 children have been learning about toys from different times and they got to have a look at some of Miss Palin's toys too! They all had lots of fun finding the differences.

This week is Mental Health awareness Week. Mental health is something we take very seriously at Burton Manor. It underpins everything we do. We offer numerous things to support our pupils with their mental health. As well as our weekly PSHE lessons in class, we offer HOPE (Helping Our Pupils' Emotions) delivered to some children by our trained staff, Zones of Regulation to support emotional regulation, leaflets in school for pupils, leaflets in our reception area for parents, coffee mornings with our in-school mental health team, 1 to 1 pupil support from our local mental health nurse, assemblies and workshops from visitors, and all of our staff endeavor to create a supportive, caring environment, where all pupils feel safe, cared for and feel they can talk to us about anything. If you have any concerns about your child's mental health, please speak to a member of staff to find out what we can offer to help support them.

Two of our violinists in Year 3&4 showcased their learning this afternoon before our weekly recorder lesson! Thank you to Mr Parkes for sharing this with us. 🎻🎻

Celebrate Your Child’s Learning

As part of our vision to ‘Reach Together for Success,’ we would like to invite you (or a special person) to share your child’s learning and see how they are getting on with their work in class.

For our KS1 & KS2 Classes

You are invited into school between 8.50am and 9.10am on the following days:
Tuesday 21st May– All KS1 Classes
Wednesday 22nd May – All Y5&6 Classes
Thursday 23rd May –All Y3&4 Classes

For all KS1 and KS2 children, you will need to drop your child off as normal and then wait in the hall via the side entrance from the playground. You will then be asked to wait in the hall whilst the class is being registered and after this, you will then be escorted to your child’s class by our Vice House Captains.

For health and safety reasons, we would kindly ask that you do not enter via our main office reception area.

For our Reception Classes
You are invited into school between 3.00pm – 3.15 pm on the following days:
Wednesday 22nd May – Rockets & Racers

For Reception children, staff will open the gate at 3pm so you will enter via the usual way.

Thank you for your support in helping us celebrate our children’s learning.

Today we considered the question: Can the past help us learn about modern life? What events have happened in history that we can learn from today? Are there people in our lives we can learn from too?

In Maths today Year 1 children were recognising different coins and they went to Miss Palin's shop to buy some items by identifying the correct coin on the price tag to pay to the shopkeeper. We had lots of fun learning today!

Today we learnt about another amazing achiever: Lewis Capaldi, how he rose to fame and how is currently living with Tourette's and how it affects him.

Our year 5 football team had their first tournament at Leasowes Primary School last night. A win, a draw and a loss didn't see them through to the group stages but some fantastic team work, listening skills and discipline was commented on by Coach Cashmore. Well done team, some great foundations to build on!
