It’s a doggy filled morning today with my two and George and Elmo 💕 have got every level of guide dog - trainee, working, retired and withdrawn! And all of them so lovely 😍😍

As I am still in Greece (for a few more hours - as I am delayed at the airport!) I have heard this greeting many times today.

The first day of each month, the locals will be greeting just about every single person they know and meet : “Καλό μήνα” (Kalo Mina), which literally means “good month”. It is the Greek way of wishing their friends, family and kins a good month ahead of them, their way of wishing you well.

Been having an amazing first week away. It’s so lovely to be catching up with old friends. We visited the Petralona Caves yesterday; the last time I went I was 12 - so they are really ancient now 😁😁
Also been making friends with some of the stray cats and dogs around here (I want them all!) and even managed a little surprise (early) birthday party for my daughter’s 21st and Dad’s 80th 😁😁

Hello everyone. This is my view for the next couple of weeks after what has been my busiest year yet. Now for a break to recharge the batteries before I’m back to organise my next school year.
I promise i will be thinking of you all 😁😁😁

Any loose change you may have left over of foreign currencies can be donated to Guide Dogs in the collection dogs you see around or in the collection buckets at fund raising events 🦮🦮

So who was lucky enough to see the Northern Lights last night? I’ve dreamt of seeing them for years but every time there has been a chance sighting it’s been cloudy or wet. Was worth the wait though. We went up to Cannock Chase to see them more clearly and I even managed to get them with the Plough too

Someone is sabotaging my art lessons 😂

It’s that horribly stressful time of year for students in exam years. It all seemed so far away and now suddenly it is upon us!
It’s easy to say ‘don’t stress’ and ‘you’ve got this!’ And even the most prepared and confident students will feeling some level of anxiety going into an exam hall. I used to - and still do- hate exams and dreaded having to do them.
All you can do though is your best; that is all anyone wants of you.
Below is a link to the Mind website with is brilliant for young people. They have a whole part dedicated to combatting stress and anxiety over exams with a variety of techniques for students to try.

As it’s getting closer to GCSE time I’m sure there’s a lot of students studying hard and practising exam style essays. Sometimes it’s not always necessary to write out your answers in full. Planning is just as important too - and planning in your actual exam do es help to improve your grades.
Here’s some planning which I was doing with a student this morning for ‘An Inspector Calls’.

Had a fantastic trip out to Jodrell Bank today to learn more about astronomy, the Big Bang, how we are made etc… and to see the huge and impressive Lovell Telescope. Snowy also enjoyed learning about Space too!!!

Come and meet some wonderful guide dogs today at Wolseley Bridge Garden Center near Rugeley between 10-4. There will be a stall too, selling Christmas cards and other gifts.
Snowy, Aura and I will be there from around 10. Would be lovely to see some of you 😁😁
