This is Hannah! She first started learning piano in October and passed her Grade 1 piano practical exam in February with distinction!
We have been working on some grade 2 material the last couple of weeks and she is almost ready to take her grade 2 piano exam! Watch this space. Well done Hannah. What a superstar! 🌟

Yesterday was International Women's Day! Here is Farida, representing the ladies by playing some ABBA 🙌 And she learnt some pedalling techniques for this one too! 😏 Awesome job 👏

Introducing the LOVELY Isabella!
Isabella was a total beginner when she started lessons in October. She is now almost ready to take her ABRSM Grade 1 piano 😳🙌 Here is her interpretation of The Detective by Pam Wedgwood.
Thanks for being such a pleasure to teach, Isabella! 🎹⭐

Here is the lovely Farida playing Singin' In The Rain. Farida has been having lessons for 2 weeks now, so to say that she is killing it is a massive understatement. Oh... And she had an electrical engineering exam this week too! 🤯 So proud of her ❤️

Don't let lockdown put a stop to learning a new instrument! My Online Music Lessons via Zoom are available and proving to be a huge hit across the UK. I still have availability Monday-Saturday for Piano, Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute and Music Theory.

Do you have an old instrument lying around collecting dust? Do you want to further your knowledge on an instrument that you can already play? Are you bored of Lockdown and want to master a challenging craft?

Get in touch now and kick off 2021 with some music!

Here's Lola playing one of her favourite pieces from the ABRSM Prep Test syllabus, Train Ride. I think she's nailed this one! What do you think?

This week is many students' last week of lessons before Santa visits us and this terrible year is over (finally).

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, the best possible way... With a cheesy saxophone solo!

Even Mr Grinch is getting stuck into his French Horn studies this week 😂 Comment below and tell me what you're practicing this week. I will send some good practice vibes your way 💪

Has lockdown 2 put a halt to your 1 to 1 lessons? 😢 Don't let it stop your learning!
I am currently teaching all of my lessons online. I have some free slots for piano, saxophone, clarinet, flute, and music theory lessons at the moment if anyone is interested or knows someone that may be.

All of my students (me included!) were a bit sceptical of doing lessons online at first, but its so easy and really good fun. Keep practicing all.
Much love,
Josh.

This week's featured superstar is Miss Lola O'Leary. Before lockdown, we were working super hard on our ABRSM Grade 2 Theory and I am so proud to say that she smashed it with a merit 👏🎉 Congratulations mate! 💕

Lola is currently working towards her Grade 1 Piano, Grade 3 Theory and has also just started her first year at Queen Mary's Grammar School! Lola is the definition of a hard worker as when she's not putting in hours on her music, she is doing extra school work. I am always thrilled to see her progress each week. Get it girl! 💪

I had such a surreal experience today. I had a conversation with my original clarinet teacher from over 17 years ago. I remember that she gave such fun lessons and I was always looking forward to my next lesson with her.

She is the reason that I am where I am now and the reason I became a teacher and a multi-instrumentalist. I always strive to make my lessons enjoyable because of Sonia. I'll never forget where I started as a musician and will never forget the wonderful Mrs England.

I'm hoping to have a coffee and a catch up with her soon and I can only dream of having this experience in 15 years time, with one of my current students.

Thank you Sonia England ❤️
