Goldilocks Childminding

Goldilocks Childminding Childminder in Buckden. Open all year round but closed on bank holidays and the week between Christmas and new year. Goldilocks Childminding is based in Buckden.

I live with my husband Dan our son Finley who was born in February 2015 our son Dylan who was born February 2017 and a cat called Tabby. I am a qualified nursery nurse with an NVQ Level 3 in childcare and education and I have been working with children for over 14 years. I have experience with ages from newborn to teenagers,

I spent around 7 years working in schools and nurseries and was a pre s

chool teacher for some of this time. I have been working as a nanny for 5 years working with many families and children. Having worked with many families I understand what an emotional roller coaster ride it can be finding the right child care for your little ones. I aim to provide a safe and welcoming home from home setting for your children. I will be working with the Early years foundation stage and children will be learning through play and the activities I set out for them. In the setting children have access to their own playroom full of toys. We have an enclosed private garden and a play space indoors which is bright, colourful and full of toys! The children will have use of the following rooms:

Play space – This is the main playroom which has all the toys, books and other exciting things. Living room – Children will have use of the TV at lunch for quiet time if they are not sleeping and for reading books on the rug. Kitchen – This is where all the arts and crafts take place as well as baking lots of lovely things. Garden – The children will have lots of time to play outside in the garden. There is a dedicated gated area of the garden for messy play such as sand pit, water wall, mud kitchen and vegetable growing area. Bedroom/spare room – There is space for any children that will require it during the day. There is a travel cot for the younger children and airbeds for the older children who require sleep, and also children’s sleeping bags. Goldilocks Childminding looks forward to hearing from you soon.

More 30 days wild. We explored a lovely park where they did some great climbing and balancing. We stopped to listen to at what sounds we could hear from the bird songs to the leaves blowing in the wind. We had a go at guessing what birds we could see. The children also enjoyed a number scavenger hunt in the garden. They did a great job finding them and trying to put the numbers in order. 30 Days Wild from The Wildlife Trusts

30 days wild. We took a look at nature around us in the village. We stopped to look at our reflections in the puddles. They enjoyed some outdoor yoga in the garden. We listened to bird song and heard the rumbles of thunder around us. We stoped and noticed the changes in weather from sunny with blue skies to dark clouds with a thunderstorm with rain. 30 Days Wild from The Wildlife Trusts

While having lunch a couple of pigeons landed on the skylight window. The children loved watching them and started looking out in garden for more. After lunch we took a trip to Paxton pits nature reserve to go bird spotting. We followed a trail and learnt lots of facts. The rain didn’t stop the fun. They found some sticks and made bubbles in the puddles 😍30 Days Wild from The Wildlife Trusts

Update on the sunflowers the children planted. They are doing really well and growing taller. The children have been watering them and measuring them to see how tall they are getting. They stood next to them to see if they were taller or shorter than the sunflowers.

This month we will be taking part in 30 Days Wild from The Wildlife Trusts. Today we explored nature and wildlife with in our village of where we live. Some of the children are learning their colours and shapes for some others. We used our shape finders we made to look at nature through them. Lots of beautiful wildflowers found. We stopped off to explore a bug house to see if we could find any. They enjoys snack time outdoors by the lake. We were also lucky to see the swans and their baby signets out swimming. They have certainly got bigger since we last visited them 😍
