I am called Yelling Pig because I live in a village called Yelling and we keep pigs. I teach sewing, spinning and weaving. I am available for bespoke one to one and small group classes both online and in person. These can be arranged at a date to suit, weekdays or weekends. I have a lovely garden that is a great venue for summer lessons and an airy studio space. Please message me for more details. I am also available to give talks and run workshops for WI meetings, crafting groups and similar.

We are already planning more classes for the future so keep your eyes peeled. Next up will probably be embroidery stitches.

I’m excited to show you what I’ve been creating this year. I have fewer items, because each one has taken a bit of extra time to create. I hope you like them!

This week I was lucky to talk to the Wrestlingworth Ladies Group about what I do. I took along lots of things to look at, try out, demonstrate and admire.

I got some lovely feedback, including this comment. 😊

“There was a lot of praise from the audience as the ladies enjoyed listening to your presentation of this traditional art.”

I love talking about my creative endeavours. Message me to make a booking for your group.

I already had the handspun flame coloured yarn, but didn’t have the blue so I dyed some white yarn to the colour I wanted.
The houndstooth design is a simple one. I like the way it blends the colours and textures. I wove it fairly loosely and it fulled perfectly when I washed it, closing up all of the holes. It has a lovely soft feel and a delightful drape.
It will be coming to The Gransden Show with me, of course!

I hosted a class for 5 at my home today.
I know these lovely ladies from a visit to their quilting group to teach scrappy quilt techniques. They then came to me a couple of months ago to learn free motion quilting and returned today to have a go at free motion appliqué. I love the pictures that they sewed.
I can’t wait to welcome them back for another class. I wonder what I’ll be teaching them next- embroidery, English Paper Piecing, the super quick jelly roll race, or another appliqué technique?
If you’d like to book a bespoke class, one to one or with a group of friends, just drop me a message. I’m now taking bookings for from the end of October onwards.

Update- now sold.
Thanks for your interest
I’m reluctantly selling my overlocker. I don’t get enough use out of it these days so it’s time for someone else to appreciate it.

It’s a really nice, easy to use machine. The main feature is the 180° front-opening system for incredibly simple threading and cleaning.

It has all of the accessories that it came with, except the tweezers. It also has the instruction manual, dust cover, some spare needles, several cones of coloured yarn and a really helpful book ‘The Overlocker Technique Manual’ (£9 on Amazon secondhand)

It’s in perfect working order. I’ll add a video in the comments.

Collection only, or local delivery could probably be arranged.
An equivalent machine is £375 new, I’d like £175 for mine.

We’ll be there in the craft tent as usual. 😃
