Priory Park Infant School

Priory Park Infant School Community Infant School serving St Neots & surrounding villages. The school was opened in 1952.

Our community school is adjacent to a large park and within walking distance of the centre of St Neots. All the classes are light and airy opening out on to our large playing field at the back of the school. The school catchment area includes the established and more recent developments in the town and we regularly receive children from the nearby village of Hail Weston as well. Because so many of

our children live locally, the school is very much part of the community of St Neots. Children use the school grounds to investigate plants, insects and pond creatures in their natural habitat. There are two playgrounds which give the children space for play and sporting activities. We have a Forest School which plays a big part in the development of children’s imagination and conversation skills. Sited within the school grounds are a playgroup and an out of school club, both independently run, but with whom we have excellent links. At the end of Year Two, the children usually transfer to Priory Junior School, a short walk through the park. Extensive liaison strategies are in place across both schools, to ensure a smooth transition for the children. We work closely with both Priory Junior School and Little Paxton Primary.

What an amazing round up to another wonderful year full of special memories we've had here at preschool! We've had a water fight, some special musical guests, a trip to the park, lots of fun with bubbles, a disco and even a visit from Safari Stu! 🐍 A huge thankyou to our wonderful PIPP who have funded this always popular experience. Another thankyou must go to Mr Worsfold and George who gave up their time to come in and entertain us all.
We have had such a lovely year seeing our Rainbow and Sunshine room children grow and develop. Good luck to all of those who are starting school in September...we look forward to welcoming some of you back in September, as well as meeting some new friends! ♥️
This year we have also said a fond farewell to Mrs Worsfold who has been at preschool for almost 30 years! Thank you so much for all that you have done; we hope you enjoy your retirement. 🌟
We hope you all have a fabulous summer break. ☀️

Today we say farewell to Mrs Shepherd, a very special teacher at our school. Mrs Shepherd has been a real asset to our team; she is patient, dedicated, kind and ‘very very lovely’ in the words of the children in assembly today. We are so grateful for all she has offered our school, our children and our families, and we are so thankful for our time with her over the last 5 years. We will miss her immensely, but wish her every success in her next adventure, they are very lucky have you. 🫶✨
