Was opened in September 1960 as "Longsands School", a Secondary Modern, under its original headmaster Harold K Whiting assisted by Deputy Head Mr Denny and Head Mistress Miss K C Flowerdew. The school's original four houses were: Rutherford (after Physicist Ernest Rutherford), Britten (after composer

Benjamin Britten), Eliot (after poet Thomas Stearns Eliot) and Moore (after sculptor Henry Moore). Alumni:
Chris Turner - Footballer/Manager
John Gregory - England Footballer
Lee Philpott - Footballer
Wayne Larkins - Cricketer
Robert Grabarz- High Jumper. Bronze Medalist at the 2012 London Summer Olympics and Gold at World's the same year in Helsinki
Rob Harris - Lead Guitarist with Jamiroquai

Mr Todd, who just so happened to be my Art teacher! God knows how but he skilfully managed to help get me a CSE grade 2 back in 1983!

We’d love you to share any memories of Mr Todd (he is still alive and kicking BTW), and if you were the subject of one of the drawings then let us know! There are two people Jennette can’t identify. So maybe we can get an ID on those as well!

At St. Neots Museum, a tribute to Longsands Secondary School Teacher Granville Rudd 1936 - 1988, he passed away 5 years after I left Longsand in 1983....

Information Needed If Possible?

I have some lovely memories of Mr Rudd, my Museum Studies Teacher in the 4th & 5th Years.
He was so proud of the Museum and he had every right to be.
I remember the Horse Drawn Carriage at the Museum, it was in amazing condition too.
All those World War Two artifacts etc.
I hope all the artifacts are now with today's St. Neots Museum since it moved, did they ever name anything at the current Museum after him I wonder?
He deserved this at the very least!

Question is, did the School Museum artifacts move to St. Neots Museum?
Did St. Neots Museum name anything after Mr Rudd?
