Excellent first week for our co-workers taking part in the ‘Starting Work’ course, Switch Now delivers through Cambridgeshire Skills.

The course is all about building the essential knowledge and confidence needed when moving into the world of work.

This week our co-workers have been learning about: the job role and training.

There has been lots of discussion, questions, interaction and practical learning, with our co-workers developing their knowledge and confidence in preparation for their next steps into employment.

🌟 Another busy week at Switch Now! 🌟
Whether it’s completing enterprise projects for customer orders in our training workshop, trialling new recipes in the training kitchen, tackling work at a range of off-site projects, or completing a variety of IT challenges, our co-workers have worked incredibly hard once again this week.
It’s been fantastic to see so much focus, problem-solving, teamwork, communication and peer-supporting throughout the week.
From developing practical skills to building confidence, independence and workplace behaviours, every vocational learning project provides valuable opportunities to upskill, learn, contribute and take the next step.
A huge well done to all our co-workers! 👏

🌟What a fantastic week!🌟

We’ve been seeing some brilliant development in teamwork, communication, focus, confidence and social skills across all areas of Switch Now this week.

Our co-workers have been working together on a variety of on and off-site projects, learning how to communicate with others, share responsibilities, stay focused and work as part of a team.

One of the things that has been particularly lovely to see is the peer support developing between co-workers. Whether it's helping someone with a task, explaining something, offering encouragement or simply working alongside each other, this helps our co-workers build confidence and positive relationships.

In the training kitchen co-workers have been baking and decorating cake orders, whilst working safely as a team, using opportunities to practise communication, focus and follow instructions to complete tasks.

Practical learning in the training workshop is a good way for our co-workers to develop focus, problem-solving, teamwork and vocational skills, while seeing the satisfaction of completing a project together.

Our co-workers are developing their knowledge, confidence and employability skills through a wide range of vocational learning activities. We're supporting them to develop their ability to concentrate, stay on task, manage distractions, follow instructions and complete their work, which are important skills for both employment and everyday life.

A special shout-out to our new co-workers. It's been wonderful to see them becoming more comfortable, getting involved in the different work areas, meeting new people and starting to build friendships and connections with their peers.

At Switch Now, we believe that learning happens everywhere. Every task, conversation, challenge and achievement is another opportunity to develop confidence, independence and skills for the future.
