Students at Farm Club have been practising their whittling skills during Forest School 🪵

They worked safely alongside one another, learning how to hold the sticks correctly, use the tools with care and give each other enough space while they practised.

After taking time to learn the technique, one student was able to continue independently, carefully working on their own stick and putting their new skills into practice.

It was a great opportunity to build confidence, patience and focus through a calm, hands-on activity outdoors.

Happy National Dog Day to Hendrix, our much-loved Farm Club companion! 🐶💚

Hendrix has spent his whole life as part of the Farm Club family and still loves visiting the site to see the team and students!

Whenever he visits, he brings plenty of warmth, energy and companionship. For many young people, spending time with Hendrix can feel calming and reassuring, while also creating natural opportunities for conversation, connection and responsibility.

We always love seeing him, and it's safe to say he's still a very special part of the Farm Club community! 🐾

Young people at Farm Club have been enjoying some outdoor potato painting 🎨

Using cut potatoes, paint and plenty of imagination, they created different shapes, patterns and prints while spending time outside.

It was a fun and relaxed activity that gave everyone the chance to experiment, make their own choices and enjoy being creative in a way that felt comfortable for them.

Creating something from scratch gives young people the chance to slow down, chat, focus and take pride in what they've made.

Flash has been out and about in her outdoor enclosure, enjoying the fresh air and taking her time to explore.

Students always enjoy seeing what she is up to and learning more about how she is cared for. Whether she is wandering around, finding a sunny spot or simply taking a rest, Flash brings plenty of interest to the day.

The animals at Farm Club give students the chance to slow down, observe and enjoy quieter moments as part of their time with us 🐢

Flash may not be the fastest member of Farm Club, but she certainly has plenty of personality! 😍

Young people at Farm Club have been busy making garlic and rosemary focaccia as part of Jamie Oliver’s Food for Life programme 👩‍🍳

Before it was ready for the oven, there were lots of important steps to complete, including preparing the vegetables, kneading the dough and giving it plenty of time to rise.

The activity gave everyone the chance to get involved in the full process, building confidence in the kitchen while practising patience, coordination and practical skills along the way.

There was something really satisfying about seeing the dough change at each stage and knowing that the finished focaccia had been made from scratch!

Young people at Farm Club have been exploring how to create welcoming habitats for wildlife as part of their ASDAN work 🐛

The activity encouraged them to think about what insects, birds and other animals need to feel safe, find food and make a home. By getting involved in a practical project, young people were able to learn more about the natural world while developing responsibility, curiosity and problem-solving skills along the way.

It was a lovely opportunity to see how small changes can make a real difference to the wildlife around us! 🌱

At our Elsworth site, a group of students recently worked together during Forest School to put up a hammock ☀️

From choosing the right spot to helping secure it safely, the activity gave everyone the chance to get involved, share ideas and work together towards a finished result.

Once the hammock was ready, the students were able to sit back, relax and enjoy the space they had created. It became a calm place to pause, spend time outdoors and take pride in what they had achieved as a group.

Moments like this are an important part of the day. They give young people the opportunity to build confidence through practical experiences, connect with others and enjoy the sense of achievement that comes from seeing their efforts come together.

International Youth Day is a lovely reminder of how important it is for young people to feel heard, supported and valued.

At Farm Club, we know that progress looks different for everyone. It might be trying something new, building trust, learning a practical skill or feeling confident enough to join in.

Through outdoor learning, animal care, Forest School and hands-on activities, young people are given the space to explore their interests, recognise their strengths and feel proud of what they achieve.

Every young person's voice matters at Farm Club. We listen to what our young people have to say, whether it's about their interests, the challenges they face or their experience with us, and we make sure their views help shape what we do! 💚

This National Allotments Week, we are celebrating all the wonderful ways young people can learn and grow outdoors 🌱

At Farm Club, gardening gives young people the chance to get involved in every stage of the process, from preparing the soil and planting seeds to caring for crops as they grow.

These hands-on experiences can help build patience, confidence and responsibility, while giving young people something they can feel genuinely proud of.

There is something really rewarding about watching their hard work take shape over time!

Before the summer holidays, there was a lovely smell coming from the Farm Club kitchen as our students baked homemade cheese scones with a delicious melted cheese centre! 🧀

From measuring ingredients and mixing the dough to watching them rise in the oven, there was plenty to get stuck into along the way. As they came out of the oven, the warm, cheesy scones quickly became a favourite, with the melted cheese centre making them even more delicious 😋

Cooking is a great way for young people to develop practical life skills, apply academic knowledge in context and and experience the satisfaction of creating something from scratch.

Sometimes the simplest recipes turn out to be the tastiest!
