We are incredibly proud to share that we have received a letter from Kensington Palace following our correspondence with The Princess of Wales.To have our work and Reggio Emilia approach acknowledged at this level is a huge moment for our nursery. It reflects the passion, care and dedication our team brings every single day.

We feel extremely fortunate to be part of wider discussions and research within early years education, and we look forward to keeping in touch and sharing updates as our journey progresses.

✨ We have some very exciting news to share… ✨

We are incredibly proud to announce that Meadow Lane Children’s Nursery has been shortlisted as a finalist in the St Ives Business of the Year category at the Huntingdonshire Business Awards 2026!

This is the first time we have ever been shortlisted, which makes this moment even more special for our whole team 💚

At the heart of our nursery is a strong sense of community, from our dedicated team, to our wonderful children, and the supportive families who are part of our everyday. This recognition truly reflects the care, passion and connection that make Meadow Lane such a special place to grow and learn.

Thank you for being part of our journey and for your continued support, we couldn’t do it without you.

Clay, curiosity, and a hundred languages of expression 🐾✨

In our Reggio-inspired environment, children explore ideas through their hands shaping, moulding, and bringing stories to life. Using real artefacts as inspiration, today’s provocation invited the children to observe closely, think deeply, and create their own interpretations of the world around them.

There’s no right or wrong here just creativity, problem-solving, and imagination at work 💭🖐️

Exciting News! 🎉

We are so excited to share that our Dahlia Class Cake Sale has been featured on the EACH website, (link attached below) celebrating the children's wonderful fundraising efforts! 🌼

We are incredibly proud of our Dahlia Class children, educators, and families for all their hard work and support. It is so lovely to see their efforts being recognised and their fundraising story being shared. 💛

We have also been told that our story has been sent to the local media, so keep your eyes peeled for any local newspaper coverage! 👀📰

A huge thank you once again to everyone who baked, bought, donated, and supported the cake sale. What a wonderful achievement for our Dahlia Class community! 🧁✨

Young bakers rose to the occasion by holding a special cake sale in support of two worthy causes. Around 35 pre-school children from Meadow Lane Nursery, in St Ives, turned into mini master chefs and raised £242.10, to be split between East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) and Woodgreen Pets...

✨ A Truly Special Moment for The Reggio Emilia Approach and Early Years Education ✨

Yesterday, Catherine, Princess of Wales, visited Reggio Emilia in Italy through the work of The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, to explore the internationally renowned Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education, a philosophy that sits so deeply at the heart of everything we do here at Meadow Lane.

For us, this feels like such a significant and emotional moment. To see the Reggio Emilia approach, built on the belief that children are capable, curious, full of potential, and deserving of rich relationships, beautiful environments and meaningful opportunities to explore, being recognised on such a global stage is incredibly powerful.The Reggio approach is not simply a teaching method; it is a way of seeing childhood with deep respect, valuing children’s voices, creativity, enquiry, and the importance of community in shaping learning. To have this philosophy celebrated internationally helps shine a much-needed spotlight on the profound importance of the early years and the lifelong impact these experiences have on children’s development and wellbeing.

This moment feels even more special for us as a nursery, as our own Playoneering and Reggio-inspired journey continues to grow. We are incredibly proud to be working with Hayley Peacock Education and the Little Barn Owls team, whose work has been inspiring our own development and reflective practice.

Even more excitingly, Hayley herself was in The Reggio School during this remarkable visit, as part of an exciting developing partnership with the Reggio school itself, something that feels hugely inspiring for the wider early years community and for settings like ours who are so passionate about this way of thinking.

As a family-run nursery, approaching 10 wonderful years of Meadow Lane, this recognition feels deeply personal. The belief that childhood should be full of awe, wonder, creativity, relationships and possibility is something we live every day, from our farm, gardens and outdoor atelier, to our provocations, enquiry projects and reflective practice.What a beautiful moment for early childhood education✨
