🦷 Dental ILS Training Today! 🦷

Today’s practical Immediate Life Support training was delivered to a dental team providing sedation for their patients, helping them complete their annual ILS update.

We covered:

❤️ A Basic Life Support refresher incorporating the latest Resuscitation Council UK 2025 guidelines
🫁 Airway management and oxygen delivery
🩺 Using the practice’s medical-emergency equipment and airway devices
🚨 Recognising and managing medical emergencies
🔄 Identifying reversible causes of cardiac arrest
🤝 Hands-on scenarios involving the whole dental team

The team worked brilliantly together, building confidence in their individual roles and practising how to respond safely and effectively if a serious emergency occurs.

Practical, practice-specific training helps dental teams become familiar with their own equipment and strengthens the teamwork needed when every second counts.

🌟 Amazing full-day Junior First Aid training today! 🌟

We spent the day teaching children at a holiday club valuable, age-appropriate first-aid skills, including:

🛡️ Keeping themselves safe
📞 Getting help in an emergency
🩹 Carrying out a primary survey
😴 Helping an unconscious casualty
❤️ Practising CPR
⚡ Learning how to use a defibrillator
🩸 Dealing with bleeding

These little first aiders were fantastic! They listened brilliantly, joined in with the practical activities and showed some amazing confidence. 👏

Practical first-aid training can give children the confidence to stay calm, get help and take safe action in an emergency.

🌟 An amazing full day of first-aid training at the gorgeous Hemingford Grey Pavilion.

It was lovely to bring together a great group of learners completing Emergency First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid, Outdoor First Aid training and First Aid at Work Re-qualification.

The beautiful venue and air conditioning were both very welcome today! ☀️

We covered:

❤️ CPR and resuscitation
⚡ Using an AED/defibrillator
🫁 Choking and airway emergencies
🩸 Bleeding, wounds and shock
🚑 Managing an unconscious casualty
🧠 Head injuries and seizures
🦴 Falls, fractures and outdoor incidents

📞 Assessing an emergency and calling for help

Everyone worked brilliantly through the practical activities and scenarios. It was great to see their confidence grow throughout the day.

🦷 Dental Basic Life Support and medical emergencies training today

A great session with the clinical and non-clinical team at Wensleydale Dental Practice, delivered in their own surgery using the specialist emergency equipment available to them.

We covered:

❤️ Adult and child CPR
⚡ Using an AED/defibrillator
🫁 Choking and airway management
🚑 Managing an unconscious patient
💉 Anaphylaxis and medical emergencies
🎒 Familiarisation with the practice’s emergency equipment
📞 Working together until the emergency services arrive

Everyone got involved in the practical training and scenarios, building confidence to respond if a patient, colleague or visitor becomes unwell.

ILS-Immidiate Life Support

🏥 This week has been all about Immediate Life Support training with medical teams at Priory hospitals.

I’ve been working with nurses and doctors and dentists to refresh the skills needed to support a deteriorating patient while waiting for the emergency services.

Training included:

❤️ Basic Life Support and CPR
⚡ Defibrillation
🫁 Airway management and airway devices
🎒 Using the emergency equipment available in their workplace
🚑 Hands-on scenarios based on clinical emergencies

The teams were brilliant and fully involved in the practical training.

ILS and medical-emergency training can also be tailored for dental practices and other clinical teams.

🚑 A fantastic first-aid course with the team at the Cambridge Museum of Technology!

What an amazing venue, set in a beautiful and truly unique location.

The museum’s first aiders may need to respond to incidents involving members of the public, as well as emergencies connected with heavy machinery, steam engines and the working environment. The training was therefore practical, relevant and tailored to the situations the team could face.

We covered:

❤️ The role and responsibilities of a first aider
🫁 Assessing and managing an unconscious casualty
❤️ CPR and resuscitation
⚡ Using an AED/defibrillator
🫁 Responding to choking
🩸 Bleeding and wound management
🚑 Shock and seizures
🤕 Falls and head injuries
🩹 Minor injuries
📋 Assessing an incident and knowing when to call for further help

The team were absolutely brilliant—engaged, enthusiastic and willing to get involved in all the practical activities and scenarios.

Today’s public course brought together a fantastic group of learners completing:

Some attended to gain essential workplace or school first-aid qualifications, while others simply wanted to learn valuable skills for life.

🌟 What an amazing group of learners today at the Stephen P***e Foundation in Cambridge, delivering blended Paediatric First Aid training for their nursery staff.

The blended course combines:

💻 6 hours of online learning
🏫 6 hours of face-to-face classroom training and practical activities

Today gave everyone the opportunity to bring their online learning and previous knowledge together through hands-on practice, including:

❤️ Infant and child CPR
⚡ Using an AED/defibrillator
🫁 Responding to choking
🩹 Dealing with bleeding and minor injuries
🚑 Managing first aid emergencies involving babies and children

The whole group got fully involved and worked brilliantly throughout the practical scenarios. It was lovely to see their confidence grow and know they are leaving better prepared to provide first aid within their gorgeous nursery settings.

The team updated their Immediate Life Support skills, including:

⚡ Using their emergency equipment
🩺 Responding to medical emergencies in the dental practice
💊 Practising the safe administration of emergency medicines
✅ Airway management during sedation and unconsciousness.

Everyone worked really well through the practical scenarios and built confidence using the equipment available on site.
Hands on training and lots of embedding some great knowledge.
