The Roosevelt Group’s fourth episode of Fireside Chats is out now.

In this episode, Aarya sits down with David Meale, former deputy chief of mission at the US Embassy in Beijing and now head of Eurasia Group’s China Practice. Aarya and Meale begin by discussing the waves of purges in China’s Military Leadership, what it tells us about Xi Jinping’s grip on power, and why it matters. They will then go on to discuss trade, the fragile state of US-China relations, and the indicators that demonstrate where US-China relations are truly heading.

Next Thursday on February 5th, we will be hosting Dr Nina Wilén, Director of the Africa Programme at the Egmont Royal Institute for International Relations. She will be discussing her new book “Securitizing the Sahel”, with a Q&A afterwards. It will take place at UCO: School 1 from 14:30-15:30.
