What’s stopping you from considering group tuition? 🤔

Worried your young person won’t get enough individual attention or that you won’t know what they’re working on?

This lovely feedback from a parent in one of my GCSE maths groups shows just how positive the experience can be. 💙

I get to know each young person and keep an eye on how they’re getting on. I also send parents a brief note about what we’ve covered, along with the lesson slides where appropriate, so they can keep up to date with their young person’s learning.

Group tuition can offer the best of both worlds: learning alongside others while still receiving individual support.

Fantastic fractions from Samuel this morning! 🎉

He’s found fractions of numbers, equivalent fractions, and has even been adding and subtracting fractions.

He arrived with a smile on his face and left with one too! 🌟

There are two spaces left in each of my supportive online GCSE maths groups.

These small groups are a great option for pupils who would benefit from a little extra support, practice and confidence alongside their school maths. With a maximum of four pupils, I can see what everyone is working on and quickly pick up on any misconceptions or gaps.

📚 Foundation group: Mondays at 5:15pm
📚 Higher group: Tuesdays at 5:15pm

Sessions are £28 and are suitable for pupils working towards their GCSE maths exams.

Maths equipment isn’t just for little ones! 🔢

I often use practical resources with my pupils, including older children, because being able to see and physically manipulate the maths can make a tricky concept much easier to understand.

Here, we’re using place value counters to start work on short multiplication and make the maths visible. It gives pupils another way into a problem, helps them spot what is actually happening, and can build that all-important understanding rather than just relying on a method they’ve memorised.

Sometimes having the right equipment available can be what helps a tricky concept finally click. 💡

And yes, my maths equipment collection is rather extensive! 😅
