West Park Careers Leaders had the pleasure of visiting Alstom in Derby yesterday!
The day included a fascinating tour of Alstom's world-class design, manufacturing, and testing facilities, including the impressive Elizabeth Line train production line and their purpose-built Training Academy. It was incredible to see how apprentices and employees are supported to develop the skills needed for successful careers in engineering and rail. A particular highlight was meeting one of Alstom's third-year apprentices, who shared his journey from school student to apprentice.
A huge thank you to the Alstom team for their warm welcome, hospitality, and for taking the time to share their expertise and vision with us. We are excited about the possibilities ahead and look forward to developing a strong partnership that will create meaningful opportunities for our pupils in the years to come.

We cannot emphasise enough how important it is to attend as many open days and evenings as possible. These events give you the opportunity to explore your options, compare different courses and providers and make an informed decision about the progression route that is right for you after Year 11.
