P-51D Mustang ‘Tall-In-The-Saddle’ (G-SIJJ) coming into land.
With genuine WW combat history, this is a particularly special Mustang. Accepted by the USAAF in December 1944, the aircraft was sent to the Mediterranean Theatre of Operations and assigned to the 31st Fighter Group at Mondolfo Airfield, Italy, during the closing months of the war.
Today it wears the striking markings of ‘Tall-In-The-Saddle’, of the legendary 332nd Fighter Group - the Tuskegee Airmen, also known as the Red Tails.
