πΎ Animals About Town Visit! πΆπ°π΄
What a fantastic day weβve had at Jack in the Box Daycare! π Today we welcomed Animals About Town for a wonderful hands-on animal experience.
Our children had the opportunity to get up close to the animals, carefully brushing and interacting with them, while learning how to treat animals with kindness, care and respect. π₯°πΎ
The children also learned some really important animal safety skills, including how to approach animals safely and how to behave around animals we may regularly see in our homes and community, such as dogs. π They listened brilliantly and showed a fantastic understanding of how we can keep ourselves and our furry friends safe.
It was a fun, exciting and educational experience, with lots of smiles and plenty of learning along the way! π
All in all, a fantastic day was had by everyone! β€οΈπΎ

πͺβ¨ A Week Full of Fun in Springers! β¨πͺ
Our wonderful Springers children have had another fantastic week filled with lots of exciting self-chosen activities, following their own interests and ideas through play. ππ
This week, the children particularly enjoyed becoming little bakers as they made some delicious homemade cookies! π©βπ³π¨βπ³ They talked about the different ingredients needed, carefully measured and mixed everything together, and watched with excitement as the mixture transformed into cookie dough. The hardest part was waiting patiently while they baked in the ovenβ¦ but it was certainly worth the wait! πͺπ
Through baking, the children developed their communication skills by talking about what they were doing, strengthened their fine motor skills through mixing and pouring, and learned about early maths concepts such as measuring and counting ingredients. π¦π Learning to Stay Safe Around Water ππ¦
Today our Jumpers had a fantastic visit from David Bullen, Water Safety for Schools Advisor from Durham County Council.
David delivered an engaging and informative session, helping the children learn all about staying safe near water. They discovered what to do if they ever found themselves in difficulty, as well as how to make sure water play is always a safe, enjoyable and happy experience.
π To bring the learning to life, David shared a wonderful story that kept the children fully engaged while reinforcing these important water safety messages. The children listened beautifully, joined in with discussions and showed great enthusiasm throughout the session.
A huge thank you to David for taking the time to visit us and deliver such an invaluable workshop. The children have taken away vital knowledge and skills that will help them stay safe around water, giving them confidence to make safe choices now and in the future.
We are so grateful for opportunities like these that help our children learn important life skills in such an enjoyable way. π
