🌟SPRINGMOOR STARS🌟

We always love to hear what the children have been up to outside of school and celebrate their achievements.

First up for evening is Thomas who played his first league game of the season for Spennymoor Town Youth U7 recently. The team played against Winlaton Youth U7 with Thomas scoring some amazing goals and putting into practise his training. To make the day even more special, Thomas got to live his dream by walking out with Glen Taylor when he was chosen as mascot by Spennymoor Town. Well done Thomas, we are super proud of you!

Over to gymnastics now and celebrating Isabella’s achievements with her club Astrid Academy. At the weekend, Isabella took part in a competition and achieved a bronze medal🥉 for her superb floor routine. Well Isabella, excellent effort and a great achievement.

Next, we are celebrating Lennox’s achievements with swimming. Over the summer break, Lennox passed his Stag 6 swimming and is already mid way through his final stage. He was also asked to take part in a trial for Durham City Aquatics, which he absolutely loved! Well done Lennox - keep up the hard work.

Finally, we are celebrating Ashton’s achievements with taekwondo. Ashton recently competed in the British Taekwondo Championships 2026 and came away with GOLD! 🥇This incredible result makes Ashton a 2x National Champion, winning the title for the second year in a row! 🇬🇧🏆 Ashton won every round scoring very highly in each one. Huge congratulations Ashton - we are super proud of you!

If anyone takes part in an event, we would love to hear from you and celebrate your achievements - please message or email the school to share with us.

Keep up the hard work Team SGS - we are very proud of you all.

We are very pleased to share that our Trim Trail is in place and ready to be used by the children. They are all very excited to have a go - we cannot wait to see the smiles on their faces tomorrow.

Tonight, we held the official opening of the Trim Trail with members of the Friends of Springmoor plus Ollie and Paul from Wooden Spoon Charity.

Our Friends of Springmoor raised a magnificent £5200 towards the project and The Wooden Spoon provided us with a grant of £9420. We are so grateful for the support from both organisations - thank you for transforming the outdoor space for our wonderful children.
