🌟 Springmoor Stars - Staff Edition 🌟

Earlier this month, Mrs Phillips (and Mr Phillips) completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks - 26 miles and 3 mountains all in 1 day. Mrs Phillips raised an amazing amount of money for a charity very close to her heart. Well done - what a fabulous achievement.

Yesterday at 10am, Mr Crowther set off to complete the Montane Lakeland 50. Running and hiking, he completed this amazing feat in an outstanding 15 hours and 17 minutes finishing just after 1am today. Well done - we hope you aren’t aching too much tonight.

Huge congratulations to both Mrs Phillips and Mr Crowther - amazing events completed demonstrating all of our ENRICHED values. Superb effort! Team SGS are very proud of you!

Junior Parkrun

This morning, our KS1 and KS2 children took part in a mock parkrun around the school grounds. The children did three laps, which equated to 2km.

Everyone did very well, showing determination and perseverance throughout! 💜

Thank you to Matthew and the parkrun team for a lovely event.

🌟SPRINGMOOR STARS 🌟

We always love to hear what the children have been up to outside of school and celebrate their achievements.

First up is Leon who received a medal for achieving 1000 points in the Go Well Trails. This great total and achievement with some other children in school helped us to achieve 1st place overall! Excellent effort Leon - we are very proud of you!

Over to motor cross now. Freddie recently competed in the Hardwick Fast 50cc. - he participated in 3 races and came 2nd 🥈 overall. Amazing achievement Freddie - well done and keep up all of your hard work!

Next up we are celebrating Anna and Ferne’s success with their football team. Recently, they participated in their first ever football tournament for Bishop Auckland Girls FC. Anna and Ferne both had a great time and their team made it all of the way to the semi finals! Well done Ferne and Anna - we are all very proud of your effort and teamwork.

Sticking with football, we are celebrating Brooklyn’s achievements with her team, Chester Le Street. What a fantastic season Brooklyn has had - she recently came away from her presentation evening with three awards and the team have been promoted! Well done Brooklyn - we are so proud of all that you have achieved this season.

Over to cycling now and we are celebrating Elliott’s achievements with his club, Hetton Hawks. It was the end of term race series and Elliott came 2nd 🥈 in the general classification for his age group and his team took 2nd 🥈 place overall too. Well done Elliott, what a great day of achievements. Keep up the hard work and effort!

Our final celebrations go to the Joanne Banks Dancers - we know there are lots of you in Team SGS. Over the weekend, they have performed three spectacular shows at Darlington Hippodrome. The show was called “The Future Is Starting Right Now” and from all of the reviews I have heard, it was spectacular! Springmoor Grange clearly features some outstanding dancers who showcase their talent in an array of styles from ballet to musical theatre, tap to acro, and even singing and dancing. It was also wonderful to see some of our talented former pupils amongst the dancers too. Well done to all concerned - we are very proud! We have had a photos sent to us of Zara, Emily, Thea, Matilda and Daisy but please also feel free to post your photos in the comments so we can celebrate everyone who took part.

Keep up the hard work Team SGS - we are very proud of you all.

This is our final Springmoor Stars post for this academic year. We’ll be back celebrating more achievements in September.
