The children in the early years room have been really enjoying the story 'pumpkin soup' and this encouraged ideas about making our own soup and what ingredients we would need.
We took a walk to the supermarket to collect all of the ingredients that we needed for our soup such as carrot, potatoes and especially pumpkins. Once back at nursery with the ingredients we started to make our soup and everyone did really well at peeling and cutting all the vegetables and being careful when using cutlery.
The children were encouraged to smell the ingredients and different spices that we put into our soup which sparked so much conversation . Once our soup was made all the children had the opportunity to taste what they had made with most of the children really enjoying it. Well done Early years π₯°

We completely forgot to share these lovely photos with you and even though we have snow today, we thought they would bring some warmth to you all π₯°
The children have really enjoyed playing and exploring the five little pumpkin activity. They developed their fine motor skills by picking up the rice, leaves and pumpkins using their hands. While playing Georgia counted to five using the pumpkins and one child managed to join her and count to three. By feeling the autumn leaves we explored the change in season to autumn and how leaves change in colour. Well done babies. :)

We'd like to thank our parents and carers for joining us to celebrate our Graduation for the children leaving us to join school reception class in September.
We had the loveliest afternoon with a slideshow, ceremony, delicious tea and entertainment.
It was such a wonderful afternoon to mark the children's time spent with us and to help them understand that school is the next step on their journey. .

Our nursery children thoroughly enjoyed our recent Teddy Bears Picnic afternoon. Some of them wore pyjamas and brought along their favourite teddy bear to join in the fun. There were lots of different activities for the children to choose from that included threading bears, playdough teddy faces and even teddy bear hat making. As well as this we also had lots of stories on offer for the children to explore both with the grown ups and also with their peers. Once we were finished with the activities we all sat down together to enjoy our very own picnic for tea. It looks like everyone really enjoyed this afternoon. π₯°β€π»

Continuing on from the interest some of the children have shown with flowers we set up an activity that allowed them to do some observational mark making using the mirror table, flowers and paint. ππͺ»π·πͺ»
The children used the mirror table to look at the reflections they could see and then used the paints to mark make the reflections they saw through the mirror. They had so much fun doing this, I wonder what other painting experiences they may enjoy next ?π₯°

Oops! We forgot to let you know that our Employee of the Month for March was awarded to Jess for her consistent efforts in ensuring all children have family books and that these are updated as and when necessary. π³
Jess does a wonderful job with these not only for the children in her room but throughout the nursery. Well done Jess, this is very much deserved π₯°πππ

Wow what fantastic helpers our Tweenie children are!
Whilst out in the garden the children observed some of the staff watering and taking care or our plants and decided they also wanted to help. π₯°
They each took it in turns to fill up the watering can from the outdoor tap before heading off to the plant they wanted to water. During this activity the Tweenie children discussed the different colours they could see on the plants and trees.
Well done everyone, we cannot wait to see our flowers and plants bloom this summer. πͺ΄π·ππͺ»
