A huge WELL DONE to Miss Burton and Mrs Roberts who completed a 42km walk through London yesterday raising a whopping £4884 for the Pancreatic Cancer UK charity. The walk was completed in memory of Mrs Roberts' Mum, Kay Green. We are immensely proud of our two staff members and can not wait to celebrate with the on our return to school next week

THANK YOU AND GOODBYE
Today we have said a big thank you and goodbye to four members of staff who are off to pastures new. A big thank you to Mrs Stewart (SENDCo) for your hard work and dedication to the children and families of Monkshouse. Your passion for supporting our SEND pupils will be missed and we wish you the best of luck in your new role. We would also like to say thank you and farewell to Mrs Sandhu, Mrs Hurford and Mrs Wilson who have been fabulous members of our support team. Everything you have done to support our pupils at Monkshouse has been much appreciated.

Wishing you all a safe, happy and fun summer and we look forward to seeing you all in September.

On Friday 22nd August, Mrs Roberts and Miss Burton will be taking on the London Ultra Challenge, walking a marathon distance to raise money in memory of Kay Green.

Kay was Mrs Roberts' mum and a much-loved grandparent of children at our school. Many of you may remember seeing her at pick-ups and drop-offs over the years, always with a warm smile. Kay also worked at Monkshouse as a HLTA for many years, retiring 10 years ago. Many of our parents who attended Monkshouse themselves will remember her.

They are taking on this challenge to support pancreatic cancer research and help other families facing this devastating disease.

If you are able to support them, no matter how small the donation, it would be hugely appreciated. Every contribution will make a difference and help fund vital research and support.

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity, and please join us in wishing Mrs Roberts and Miss Burton the very best of luck for their challenge! 💜

SCHOOL GAMES GOLD MARK AWARD
We are delighted to announce that we, Monkshouse Primary Academy, have achieved the School Games GOLD Mark Award for the 2025/26 academic year. This is the 4th year running that we have achieved this level.
The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.
We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Mrs Jensen, Mr Ahern and all the staff that have supported the school in gaining this award - what an achievement!

DRAMA CLUB - STARLIGHT EXPRESS
A huge well done to drama club who have completed 2 amazing performances of Starlight Express over the last few days. Well done to everyone involved - we have been blown away by your singing, dancing and confident stage presence. A big shout out to Mrs Gilbert, Mrs Young and Mrs Stafford too for helping the children to put on such an incredible performance.

Saturday 4th July, 10am - 12noon. Summer Reading Challenge launch with activities and games for all the family
Thursday 30th July, 10am - 2pm. Summer Fayre day with collage making and fun activities
Thursday 6th August, 10am - 2pm. Symphony of Music, make an arty music picture and a castanet
Tuesday 11th August, 2pm - 3pm. Meet some amazing animals and learn about the sounds they make with our special guests Zoolab. Please note that booking is essential for this event
Thursday 13th August, 10am - 2pm. Make a concertina dog and snazzy snail
Thursday 20th August, 10am - 2pm. K-Pop day, make a microphone and a pair of superstar glasses
Thursday 27th August, 10am - 2pm. Musical Day, make a drum and a shaker
Saturday 19th September, 10am - 12noon. Join us for a tea party to celebrate the end of the Summer Reading Challenge

With the exception of the Zoolab event on the 11th August, there's no need to book, just drop in and join in the fun.
