Maple Class took part in a wonderful Roots to Food cooking workshop last week. The children put their chopping skills to excellent use as they prepared fresh vegetables for a delicious sweet‑and‑sour chicken. They were so proud of the final dish. They ate it all up! 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳

In year 1 and 2. children learned about Michelangelo in art and his incredible mural on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Inspired by his work, we had a go at creating our own ‘ceiling murals’ — lying underneath the tables just as Michelangelo painted above him. 🧑‍🎨🎨🖌️

In Willow class we have started our new writing topic on the book "The Rock Factory". We visited the rock factory and learnt how each rock is formed. We loved making our own sediment jars, using pressure and heat to combine layers at the metamorphic station and learning how our earth is the continuous rock factory. We're ready to write a report all about rocks! 🪨

Reception have really enjoyed their first few swimming lessons. It has been lovely to see their confidence grow as they learn to move around the pool and carefully submerge their shoulders. Next week, the children will begin learning how to float on their backs. 🏊
