🤔We know one of a parents biggest worries is “will my child be safe at nursery?” 🤔

🌳 At Little Oaks, we pride ourselves on caring for and protecting the children as we would do our own families 🌳

🍎 that means not just using training as a tick box exercise to demonstrate compliance, but ensuring our team have thorough and clear understanding to put that training into practice whether it relates to care or education🍎

☀️ over summer, we have had an entirely new fire alarm/smoke detector system installed - so modern that even our fire risk assessor hadn’t seen such a state of the art model before!👌

🔥 learning from an online course can be valuable, but being confident to use these skills in life, is priceless 🔥

🚒 shout out to our team for tackling some real fires today - making sure we are the strongest team of educators we can be as well as reassuring our families that your little ones are in the safest hands 🚒

💓When you receive a message like this, it makes everything worth it 💓

“Bit of a random one but i just wanted you to know my current manager asked me yesterday what has motivated me to work hard in my nursery role and encouraged me to begin my Level 5 qualification. It made me stop and think about where that motivation really comes from, and I kept coming back to you, Kathy and Elle.

So much of who I am today has been shaped by the care, support and encouragement you gave me throughout my time at Acorns/Little Oaks. From caring for me as a baby, being there as I grew up, and then welcoming me back after I left school and giving me the opportunity to work alongside you, you have each had such a meaningful and lasting impact on my life.

When I was younger, I don’t think I fully understood just how special that was. Looking back now, I can see how much love, patience, belief and encouragement you gave me. You helped me grow in confidence, supported me through different stages of my life and played a huge part in inspiring my love of working with children.

I don’t think I have ever properly stopped to thank you for everything you did for me, but I really want you to know how deeply grateful I am. I have so much love and respect for you all, and I will always treasure the memories, opportunities and kindness you gave me.

It makes me incredibly happy and proud to look at where I am now and realise how far I have come. I live in Cambridge, own my own home, lead a room in a nursery setting and am working towards my Level 5 qualification. I honestly don’t think I would be where I am today without the support, encouragement and opportunities you gave me.

You were such an important part of my childhood, and you have continued to be part of my journey into the person I am today. The impact you had on my life will always stay with me, and I hope you know how much everything you did meant to me then — and how much it still means to me now.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for believing in me, supporting me and helping me become the person I am today. I will always be so grateful.

☀️ what a day! … Actually, what a year 🤩

🥳 Today we held our 2026 graduation celebration - and what an incredible, inspirational group of children we’ve been celebrating 🎉

🥹 it’s always the biggest mixture of emotions; such pride, a time to reflect on some amazing achievements, beautiful friendships and lifelong memories. Paired with knowing another cohort has today flown our nest🪺

🏫 and all in the same week that our first ever Little Oaks graduates collected their GCSE’s 🥹

💓 thank you to our fabulous parents and families who have been such a support this past year, and to our sensational team who we are utterly blessed to spend our days with and that work so immensely hard💓

⭐️ we COULD NOT BE PROUDER of you all and we will miss you enormously. 💫

This weeks P.O.W 💥 (Picture of the week) comes from a very clever little Toddler who became a clever little scientist! They spent many happy moments using their interest in cause and effect watching what happened when they let go of the sensory scarves near the fan! Genius! 💡

💓Our amazing children (and staff!) took part in a sponsored walk this week to raise money for a Charity very, very close to our hearts this year - Tiny Tickers who help babies with heart defects have a fighting chance at life 💓

⭐️ together, with help from family and friends, we have raised a MASSIVE £2532.50! ⭐️

We found:
🦢 2 swans and 3 signets 🦢
🦆 2 ducks and 4 ducklings 🐥
🎣 one fisherman (twice!) 🎣
🐦 numerous pigeons 🐦 🐦 🐦 🐦 🐦
🦋 several butterflies 🦋 🦋 🦋
🚌 two buses 🚌 🚎
🧦 one sock

(And we have it on good authority from 2 pre-school boys…)

🐊 a crocodile 🐊 🤔!!
🤿 and a scuba diver 🤿 🤔!!

We are so proud of what we’ve achieved together, helping the children to learn about supporting our community and raising such an awesome amount for this incredible charity.

Back in April, Little Oaks supported an amazing charity, DSUK. The children planted their sunflower seeds at nursery and took them home to nurture them and help them grow 🌻 big well done to Miss R for doing such an amazing job here! 🫶🏻
