I love reading what the kids have enjoyed and taken away from their visit here to us. Wisbech Grammar were in last week as they had been learning about barn owls. They tied in a visit to coincide with their topic and it was great to see how much they had remembered.
It’s nice to be reminded sometimes what impact we have on people visiting and what the children remember. Hopefully giving them an enthusiasm to care for nature and the environment in the future.

The weather is glorious today so why not come and watch the 1.30 flying demonstration.
The display season finishes on the 1st November so there aren’t many more chances to catch it for this year. It will be on every day during the half term week and then it will be finished until master next year.

🌖🦉Spend a magical evening in the company of the owls at Baytree Owl and Raptor Centre! Set in the warm glow of our softly lit indoor arena, this enchanted setting creates the perfect ambience for a cosy yet thrilling spectacle.

🕕Taking place Saturday the 31st of October 6:00 – 8:00pm, this jam-packed evening extravaganza features over 1h 30m of exciting flying demonstrations, where you’ll be able to watch an incredible range of owls doing what they do best!

🍲Half way through the demonstration, we will pause for a warm-up break for some hot soup and refreshments, and then return straight back to the action.

🌙Throughout the evening, you can expect to meet a variety of amazing species, from the ghost-like barn owl to the impressive western Siberian eagle owl - and many more besides!

A little ramble about needing some conifer for the vultures, subscribing to our new quarterly newsletter and volunteering in our shop, gardening or maintenance. Any help with these would be greatly appreciated

Owls have poor close range eyesight so some species have to use these long whiskers called rictal bristles as an aid to feel to feel for things. Even though Nellie is our smallest flying owl, he has the longest bristles of any of the Owls in our collection.

Now Flight Nights are over for another season, we now move into Winter Owl Evenings. There are less spaces for these nights as we include soup and a roll and refreshments in the price of the ticket. Plus the whole session is done in the tunnel with the low lights on so it’s for over 14’s and unfortunately with it being dark there ain’t chance to see the other birds. It is though, a lovely ambience in there at night and made extra special with all of the owls from our display teams included.
Both October and December dates are available now. The first one is already 3/4 booked so get in quick if you want to come and see it.
