I’m afraid we have had some fairly biblical rain for the last few hours and the whole site is trying to pump water out as fast as possible. All of our paths are flooded and even getting to us is inaccessible at the minute.
We will have to abandon today unfortunately and the 1.30pm flying display is cancelled as we are still forecast even more rain for this afternoon.
Hopefully we should be able to return to normal tomorrow

We would love to be able to not only help rarer species like the Chaco owl, Lilac Breasted Roller, White Backed Vultures by breeding them in captivity to preserve the species but also be able help add funds to the projects to help their wild counterparts too.

Due to the forecasted high temperatures, Baytree Owl & Raptor Centre will be CLOSED tomorrow to ensure the safety and welfare of our birds and animals. ❤️

We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. The wellbeing of our wonderful birds always comes first. 🦅🦉

We were going to cancel flying and stay open but as there will only be me in, I will need to focus on making sure the birds are all ok and kept cool. We have been making ice blocks and setting up shaded areas where the full sun would affect the birds this afternoon so hopefully all should be well. We hope to be back to usual routine on Friday.

🗓Taking place on Saturday the 29th of August, this evening event features over 🕜1h 30m of exciting flying demonstrations, where you’ll be able to watch an incredible range of 🦉owls and 🦅birds of prey doing what they do best!

🎟️All tickets include full admission to the centre’s collection, making it the perfect way for your friends and family to experience everything Baytree Owl and Raptor Centre has to offer!

We thought we had finished with babies for the season but Straw and Whisper the Barn owls had other ideas. 3 have hatched so far and she is sat on another 2 eggs. I was a bit hasty in switching the brooders off.
