Hey everyone! 👋
I am away this week, but that doesn’t mean our fitness journey pauses! Our classes will be back at it next week, but until then, I am passing the baton over to you.
Keeping up your momentum is what keeps your joints happy and your energy high!
This week, your Actionable Goal is to get outside for at least 20 minutes of movement in the sunshine every single day. Whether it’s a brisk walk, some active gardening, or a stroll with a friend, let’s get that natural Vitamin D, boost our mood, and keep those muscles active!
📚 YOUR HOMEWORK: The NEMEX Principle
Your homework this week is to practice NEMEX (which stands for NEuroMuscular EXercise). This simply means training your brain and your muscles to communicate better to protect your joints!
While I'm away, focus on these two NEMEX rules during your daily movements:
Perfect Alignment: When sitting down, standing up, or climbing stairs, make sure your hips, knees, and ankles stay in a straight line. Don't let your knees cave inward!
Control: Move with purpose and stability, focusing on staying steady and balanced.
Why we do what we do: The Power of Functional Training Over 50
Remember, the exercises we do in class aren't just for inside the class… they change how you move in real life.
Functional training focuses on:
Real-World Strength: Making it easier to carry shopping, lift objects, and tend to the garden without straining your back.
Better Balance & Coordination: Sharpening your reflexes and footwork to keep you steady on your feet and drastically reduce the risk of trips or falls.
Joint Longevity: Loosening up stiffness and building muscle around your joints so you can stay fully independent, active, and pain-free.
Rest up, stay active, and get your homework done!
✈️ Help us grow our fitness family: Do you know a friend, neighbor, or family member who would benefit from boosting their strength and balance? Share this post with them or tag them below to invite them to join our friendly group when we return next week!
See you all very soon! 💪☀️
