Students and staff at Cowley Academy are celebrating a record breaking year of academic and vocational success with highly impressive results across the diverse curriculum of 18 different GCSE and BTEC subjects.
It has been a record year for English and Mathematics grades at Cowley Academy plus the top four subjects where students have achieved grades 7 to 9 (or equivalent) are Health & Social Care, Information Technology, Performing Arts and Sports Science. There has also been a notable increase in grades 9 to 5 in Business Studies and French.
There have been many new literacy and numeracy initiatives implemented since Cowley Academy joined the Trust, which has resulted in English and Mathematics grades 4 or above increasing by 22%. The number of top achieving students gaining a 5 or above in English and Mathematics has also increased by 12%.
Mrs Jemma Curson, Chief Executive Officer at South Lincolnshire Academies Trust said “The fantastic results across all four schools in our Trust demonstrate the incredible hard work of our students and staff, and reflects the students hard work and commitment to their studies. Bourne Academy along with Spalding Academy and Giles Academy have consistently demonstrated impressive results, and we are delighted that Cowley Academy are now emulating the academic success and progress of our other schools since joining the Trust in September 2022.”
“As a Trust with non-selective schools, I am immensely proud of the achievements of every single student who have grown into amazing young people with bright futures. We are delighted so many students have achieved what they require to progress to the next stage of their education and will make a positive difference within their community.”
