The countdown is over, we can’t wait to welcome all our children back tomorrow Thursday 3rd September for another exciting year of learning, friendship, discovery and success.

Our classrooms are ready, resources are prepared, and there is a real sense of anticipation across the school as we look forward to seeing smiling faces return through the gates. A new school year brings new opportunities, fresh challenges, exciting experiences and countless moments to celebrate, and we cannot wait to share them with our pupils and families.

This week has already seen a fantastic start for our staff team. Yesterday's school INSET day provided valuable time for colleagues to come together, review important priorities and plan high-quality learning experiences for the year ahead.

Today, staff joined colleagues from across the Trust for our Trust INSET day taking part in professional development, sharing best practice and strengthening the collaborative work that helps ensure the very best outcomes for all children.

As we begin the new academic year, we are excited about the opportunities ahead and remain committed to providing a nurturing, inspiring and ambitious learning environment where every child can thrive.

We wish all of our children and families a wonderful evening and look forward to welcoming everyone back tomorrow for what promises to be another fabulous year at school.

Our whole school Geography curriculum question is “What makes our world wonderful and how can we keep it that way?”

Yesterday, year 2 had a wonderful day celebrating the beauty and culture of India to round off their learning.

Families are welcome to visit the art gallery Thursday evening 4pm - 6pm when you come up to meet class teachers!

We look forward to sharing how art skills progress from Year 1 to Year 6. Art Club also have work on display and our art and design apprenticeship group who took part in a fabulous workshop with Apple Tree House Studio as part of our World of Work programme! Well done to our Year 6 business teams for great customer service this week. Their customers had a great time and enjoyed the stalls. It was great to see the teams adapting to the needs of the customers with the end goal of maximising profit.

⚽️⚽️You might think England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 are doing well in their World Cup campaign but KS1 had their very own World Cup experience led by Elite Sports Academy last week!

Excitement built in the morning when they set up their inflatable football pitches. 🥅⚽️

The children learnt skills, tactics and team work and had so much fun.

Rebecca from Apple Tree House Studio did a workshop with our Art and Design Apprenticeship group on Friday and the results were outstanding. They will be displayed in the hall on open evening on Thursday this week. Please do pop in to have a look.

She is running lots of workshops over the summer holidays and we would highly recommend them. She really knows how to inspire and encourage the children. They will love it!

If anyone is having a little clear out this weekend in advance of the summer holidays, one of our Year 6 business teams is asking for donations of small toys, teddies and games to sell on their stall on Monday and Tuesday. Please wash / sanitise the items and bring them to Year 6 in the morning! Thanks in advance 🙂 🧸🚂🪁🪀

At Spalding Parish, we build our transition programme carefully at the end of the summer. The children have four sessions with their new teacher and class to help them prepare for September. We also use this time to enhance our PSHE curriculum with key safety messages to help your child stay safe over the summer.

Today, Castle Sports Centre and Swimming Pool came in to give a talk to Key Stage 2 children on water safety - particularly important in our town where we have access to beautiful waterways.

The children were reminded to only swim in safe places with safe adults, always check the flags, if you get into a panic, float on your back.

A final thank you to our local business partners who have helped our Year 6 Entrepreneurs. The business pitches they presented were of a high standard and they talked about what they had learned from their visits in terms of branding, pricing, customer service, stock levels and profit!

Hearing the children whooping in the corridor once they received their business loan was joyous!

These experiences are the culmination of the Spalding Parish journey. We are so proud of the children and the passion and energy they put into their pitches.
