Thankyou to all the Year 6 parents who joined us yesterday afternoon. The session led by Mr McGrath and Mrs Bolton was an opportunity to share how we assess pupils in school and strategies teachers use to support their decisions on pupils achievements. Well done to all our Science Project Class Winners. They all came up with some fantastic experiments and investigations. It was a really tough decision but the 4 children to go through to the Ogden Trust Science Fair at Midgley Primary School on 2nd July are - Tobias, Ava, Charlotte and Ada. Today we invited our EYFS parents to join us and experience a couple of activities in school. We saw some fantastic robot arms in our phonics session and the adults and children were able to review and assess some fantastic artwork too. Well done to our Year 5 children who took part in a Physics Olympics event at All Saints Primary School this morning. The children delivered a presentation and then led an experiment investigating air resistance. It was a great morning where they also had the chance to participate in other experiments led by children for other local primary schools. 👩‍🔬🥼🧪

Well done to all the children who contributed to our Science Fair yesterday. We were blown away by the response and the creative ideas the children came up with. The children loved looking at all the experiments and investigations - we all learnt so much from them. Although it’s going to be tough we’ll be deciding on 4 of the projects to send to the Ogden Trust Science Fair in July. Thank you to everyone who took part in the event, it’s been a fantastic success 🥼🧪👩‍🔬🧑‍🔬

Our Year 2 children had a fantastic day at The Fireground Museum. The museum tells the historical story of firefighting so the theme linked perfectly with their Great Fire of London History topic. The children took part in so many activities and they particularly enjoyed using a real fire hose 🚒🔥

We’ve had some fantastic entries so far for our National Numeracy Day competition. The children were tasked with coming up with ideas on how numbers are used in their community. The deadline for entries is on 10th June so still plenty of time for the children to submit their designs 🟰➕➖🧮
