Our Year 12 students recently took part in a team-building morning as part of their Sixth Form induction.

The activities were designed to get students having fun, solving problems, being active, being creative and, most importantly, working as a team.

Students were challenged to build the tallest towers, communicate the most words and cross an imaginary river using limited tools and only each other to help them across.

The competitive spirit was in full flow, with prizes awarded to the winning teams. It has already helped bring our Year 12s together, creating connections and memories that will last throughout their time at Ryburn Sixth.

Wednesday is a Transition Day for our new Year 12, getting you set up and settled in for a great year. We start at 9.30am.

And Year 13 are back on Thursday, when normal service resumes.

We are incredibly proud of our students' achievements this year.

These outcomes reflect not only their hard work and resilience, but also the dedication of our staff in supporting every student to reach their potential. It's brilliant to see strong progress across such a wide range of academic and vocational subjects, a real reflection of the inclusive, aspirational nature of Ryburn Sixth.

A Level Biology students spent the day at the University of Huddersfield last week, getting hands-on experience with DNA extraction, PCR and gel electrophoresis.

Using specialist equipment with precision and care, they developed practical skills and explored techniques used in laboratories and research settings. It was a chance to apply their knowledge in a different environment and gain a deeper understanding of the science behind the topics they study.

Mrs Mitchell was proud of the focus, professionalism and attention to detail shown throughout the day.

Well done to everyone involved. You represented Ryburn Sixth brilliantly.

Last Friday, we celebrated the end of our Year 13 students’ time with us in style at Prom.

Held at The Fleece Inn, the evening brought everyone together for an awards ceremony, a fantastic buffet, and live performances from Hannah and Maisie. There was plenty of energy too, with karaoke and a student-led DJ set keeping the dance floor full. It felt like a fitting way to mark the end of their time here and reflect on everything they’ve achieved.

We’re sad to see them go, but proud of all they’ve become. We look forward to welcoming them back on results day and celebrating the next step with them.
