🌟 Off to a flying start! 🌟

It’s been so lovely welcoming all our students β€” old and new β€” back to school this week! πŸ«πŸ’™ There’s been such a fantastic energy around school, with students getting stuck into their lessons, meeting new faces, and catching up with friends. πŸ“šβœ¨πŸ˜Š

A special mention to our Year 9 students, who enjoyed an exciting introduction to physical theatre 🎭 β€” exploring movement, expression and performance as they begin their journey into this creative form of storytelling.

It’s been brilliant to see our school community buzzing with enthusiasm, positivity and excitement for the year ahead. We’re looking forward to all the learning, opportunities and memories still to come! πŸŒˆπŸ™Œ

πŸŒπŸ’š Year 1 & 2: Caring for Our Environment! πŸ’šπŸŒ

To round off their year of learning about service, our Year 1 and 2 children explored the environment and developed an understanding of the impact we can all have β€” both locally and across the wider world. 🌱🌎

They discovered that there are lots of big and small things we can do to care for our planet, from everyday choices to taking action in our own community. πŸŒΏπŸ’š

As a wonderful final act of service, the children rolled up their sleeves and spent time litter picking around Clough, the Sunken Garden and towards Forest School. πŸ§€πŸ—‘οΈπŸŒ³

It was fantastic to see our young learners taking pride in their surroundings and putting their learning into action. What a brilliant way to round off their year of service! πŸ€©πŸ‘

πŸ₯‘πŸ“š A Super-Strong Reception! πŸ’ͺ✨

Our Reception children had a wonderful time discovering the books of author and illustrator John Burningham, including the much-loved story Avocado Baby. πŸ“–πŸ₯‘

Inspired by the story, the children made their very own guacamole and enjoyed tasting avocado β€” just like the baby in the book! And the verdict was unanimous… it was delicious! πŸ˜‹πŸ‘

The children also learned some fascinating facts along the way. They discovered that avocados and tomatoes are fruits, and used a globe to find South America, where avocados originated. 🌎πŸ₯‘

It was a fantastic opportunity to combine storytelling, food, geography and learning β€” and our Reception children certainly finished the day feeling super strong and ready for anything! πŸ’ͺ🌟

🎨✨ Year 8 Art-Off! ✨🎨

What an incredible showcase of creativity from our Year 8 students! πŸ–ŒοΈπŸ‘

They were tasked with creating paintings inspired by a range of artists, styles and ideas that they have studied throughout the academic year. From Gormley and Giacometti to Ancient Egyptian canopic jars, Kate Malone and street art, they have explored an amazing variety of techniques and influences. πŸ“šπŸŽ¨

The artwork on display was truly incredible, showcasing wonderful imagination, creativity and individuality. 🌟 We were so impressed by the thought, skill and effort that went into each piece.

A huge well done to everyone who took part β€” you should be very proud of your fantastic work! πŸ‘πŸŽ¨πŸ’«

πŸ—ΊοΈβœ¨ Reception: Mapping Our World! βœ¨πŸ—ΊοΈ

Our Reception children enjoyed exploring maps and positional language through the wonderful story Martha Maps It Out by Leigh Hodgkinson. πŸ“šπŸŒŽ

Inspired by Martha, the children used maps to help them understand different locations and positions, before putting their ideas into practice by building their own models using the map. πŸ§±πŸ—ΊοΈπŸ‘

It was fantastic to see their imaginations at work as they developed their understanding of direction and place through hands-on learning. 🌟

Well done, Reception! πŸ‘πŸ’«

πŸŽ‰ GCSE Results Day 2026 πŸŽ‰

We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of our students today.

As a non-selective school, we are particularly pleased with the progress and achievements of every student. Behind every grade is a story of hard work, determination and resilience β€” and there are some fantastic individual success stories to celebrate.

Our 2026 results are particularly encouraging:

πŸ“ˆ Our highest percentage of Grade 9s in the last four years
⭐ More than one in five students achieved Grades 9–8
πŸ‘ More than one in three students achieved Grades 9–7

Every student has had different starting points, strengths and challenges, and we celebrate the progress each one has made.

A huge congratulations to the Class of 2026! We are incredibly proud of you all. πŸŽ“πŸ‘

Thank you also to our dedicated staff, parents and carers for their support throughout our students’ Senior School journey.

🌟 Good luck to our GCSE Class of 2026! 🌟

Today is an important milestone as our GCSE students receive their results, and we’ll be thinking of each and every one of you. πŸ’™

Your journey has taken resilience, dedication and plenty of hard work, and you should be proud of everything you’ve accomplished along the way.

We hope today brings lots of smiles, exciting opportunities and a chance to celebrate your achievements with family, friends and teachers. Whatever your next chapter looks like, we’re excited to see where it takes you. ✨

Wishing all of our GCSE students the very best of luck β€” we’re incredibly proud of you! πŸ€

🌟 History with Year 1! 🌟

As we approached the summer holidays, our Year 1 pupils enjoyed sharing and listening to each other’s family interviews. πŸ‘πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ Through these wonderful stories, the children developed their understanding of history within and beyond their own living memory, exploring what has changed and what has stayed the same. ⏳

The children also had a lovely surprise when they explored our school timeline and watched a special video from Mr Oakman about how things have changed β€” and some things have stayed the same β€” during his time as Head of Saint Felix πŸŽ₯🏫

This sparked lots of thoughtful discussion and introduced the children to some fantastic new historical vocabulary. πŸ’πŸ“š

Great work, Year 1 β˜€οΈπŸ‘
