Super exciting news….
At Pickles Preschool we pride ourselves on a fun, exciting, nurturing learning environment.
I’m excited to say I have arranged for some farm animals to come and visit all our children in our lovely Pickles Preschool garden, where our children will be able learn, engage and interact with each animal.
Such a wonderful learning opportunity for all our children🦔🦔🦔🦔

It’s been a fun packed first week back here at Pickles where we have been focusing on our topic ‘All About Me and Our Emotions’. The children have made some lovely self portraits of themselves and we have had some lovely conversations of how we are all different in some ways, be it our hair colour, our eyes, our skin, what we wear etc.
The children have also explored their own emotions by expressing how they feel and have used an assortment of colours to match the colour monster into his own feelings. Coloured cubes were also used to measure the length of the chairs.

This weeks fun here at Pickles has been all about Love ❤️ and how we express our love and feelings towards others be it to our friends, or family. The children have been sharing and expressing lots of love and kindness to looking after the pretend play Vets. Some lovely heart crafts have been made too with plenty of glitter! The children have also enjoyed doing some different yoga poses including the broccoli pose!

This week we have a big focus on looking after our teeth here at Pickles. The children have practiced cleaning teeth with their friends and enjoyed talking about visits to the dentists.
A very popular activity also was doing the teachers hair this week 😆 the teachers looked amazing wearing 10 hair clips & bands all at once. The children all took turns with their friends & enjoyed pretending to be hairdressers which made everyone laugh.

This week the children have been sharing their favourite story books. Shark in the Park was a firm favourite and the children created their very own shark creations!
The children also explored and had fun making different shapes and models with the magnetic shapes. We have had some outdoor fun play particularly in the mud kitchen where the mud kitchen literally has become mud!

This week we have lots of fun dancing, singing, doing yoga and learning through our play as we love to do. As an extra topic we have been looking at

🌎 Looking after our World 🌎

The children have loved
💙 painting our world
💚 talking about saving our energy by turning off lights & TVs etc
💙 how important it is to pick up litter on our beaches.
💚 keeping our animals safe by not letting plastic get into the sea
💙 making Under the sea pictures
💚 looking at recycling
💙 sharing books together to help understand how we can help our planet.

We have had a very busy week of learning through our play here at Pickles. We have been looking more closely at the topic Winter which the children have all enjoyed. Lots of discussions about snow, ice, and what animals love the cold weather and much more. The children really enjoyed making birds & learning about the birds we find in our gardens & parks. We have been very busy doing painting, dancing to our favourite songs, playing the ball game & jumping up and down to the song with our friends.

We have had a great first week back here at Pickles Preschool ❤️ All the children have really enjoyed telling us about their fun adventures & family times they had during the Christmas holidays. We are looking forward to lots more fun & learning this term
