As another wonderful academic year comes to a close, we want to say a huge thank you to every member of our school community 💙🌈

To our incredible pupils, dedicated staff, supportive parents and carers, governors, PSA and everyone who plays a part in making Farnsfield St Michael’s such a special place – thank you for your kindness, encouragement and support throughout the year. Together, we’ve celebrated so many achievements, created countless memories and watched our children flourish.

We say a particularly heartfelt goodbye to our Year 6 families who leave us for the final time. Thank you for trusting us to be part of your children’s journey. It has been a privilege to watch them grow into such remarkable young people, and you will always be part of the St Michael’s family. We wish you every happiness and success as you begin your next chapter.

To all of our returning families, we hope you have a wonderful, restful and well-deserved summer break. We can’t wait to welcome you back and begin another exciting year together.

We look forward to seeing everyone back in school on Thursday 3rd September.

Have a safe, happy and sunshine-filled summer! ☀️🌈💙

On Friday, we said goodbye to an incredibly special Year 6 cohort as they completed their final day of primary school 💙🌈

Their last day was filled with treasured traditions and unforgettable moments. The morning was spent signing shirts, sharing messages and memories that they will carry with them for years to come. In the afternoon, we gathered at church for a moving Leavers’ Service, where each child shared their favourite memory from primary school, sang some poignant leavers’ songs, and watched a photo montage celebrating their journey from their very first days with us to the remarkable young people they have become.

This Year 6 has been a truly exceptional group. They have been one big team throughout their time with us - supporting one another, celebrating each other’s successes and always having each other’s backs. They have been fantastic role models for our younger children, showing kindness, resilience, friendship and respect every step of the way.

While it is incredibly difficult to say goodbye, we are so grateful for everything they have brought to our school community. They have left a lasting legacy, and they will be missed more than they know.

Class of 2026, thank you for everything. We are so proud of each and every one of you and can’t wait to see where your next chapter takes you. Remember, once part of the St Michael’s family, always part of the St Michael’s family. We wish you every happiness and success in the adventures that lie ahead 💙🌈

What a fantastic way to celebrate the end of our Year 6s’ primary school journey! 🎉

On Thursday evening, we enjoyed a wonderful Leavers’ Party filled with fun, laughter and memories that will last a lifetime. There were glitter tattoos, friendship bracelet making, delicious pizza, refreshing ice poles and a fiercely contested staff vs Year 6 football match! ⚽✨🍕

To top it all off, we were treated to an incredible live music performance from one of our very own Year 6 pupils – a truly special moment that showcased just how talented this amazing year group is 🎶

It was a brilliant evening celebrating everything our Year 6s have achieved and the friendships they’ve made along the way. We are so proud of each and every one of them 💙🌈

What a show! 🤠⭐

This week, our amazing Year 5 and 6 children transported us straight to the Wild, Wild West with their fantastic production of ‘Ye-Ha!’.

From brilliant accents and colourful costumes to energetic dancing, perfectly timed comedy and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, every single child gave an outstanding performance. Their confidence, enthusiasm and teamwork shone through from start to finish, and they should all be incredibly proud of themselves.

We genuinely believe this is one of the most accomplished productions ever performed at our school – a true testament to the hard work, dedication and talent of everyone involved.

A huge well done also goes to all of the staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring everything together. Your creativity, commitment and countless hours of preparation made this unforgettable production possible.

Congratulations to our wonderful cast and crew – Ye-Ha! 🌵⭐👏

Our Year 6s had a wonderful day at Southwell Minster last week for their annual ‘Stepping Up’ Day as they prepare for the exciting transition to secondary school.

The day began with an inspiring act of worship, where one of our Year 6 children confidently shared special memories from her time at primary school and another read the Bible passage. It was a lovely opportunity to reflect on the memories, friendships and experiences that have shaped them during their time at our school.

Throughout the day, the children explored the stories of people connected to Southwell Minster who had ‘stepped up’ to make a positive difference to others. They reflected on how they too can show courage, kindness and responsibility as they begin their next chapter.

The children also enjoyed taking part in a series of multi-faith workshops, learning about different faiths and cultures, including the opportunity to try on traditional clothing. It was a fantastic way to celebrate diversity and broaden their understanding of the world around them.

It was a thoughtful and memorable day, giving our Year 6s time to look back with gratitude on their primary school journey while looking ahead with confidence and excitement to the adventures that await them.

🎭 Can you help? 🐴

We’re on the lookout for a pantomime horse costume for our upcoming UKS2 production!

Unfortunately, our original plan to source one hasn’t worked out, so we’re wondering if anyone in our wonderful school community has one (or knows someone who does) that we could borrow.

We’re looking for:
🐴 A traditional pantomime horse costume for two people
📅 Available from the end of this week
↩️ We would return it by Wednesday next week

It’s a bit of a random request, but if you think you might be able to help, we’d be so grateful! Please get in touch.

Thank you for your support! 💙🌈🐴
