Not the result I was hoping for yesterday at Final Qualifying for The Open at West Lancashire GC.

A few bad breaks in the morning left me with too much to do, despite finishing the day with a solid 69 in the afternoon. It’s frustrating, but it was another privilege to tee it up alongside some of the best players in the world and test myself.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support me. The encouragement throughout the day meant a lot, and it was especially nice to have my wife Emma May ✨ there watching me compete for the first time. Thanks as well to Peter Mills for doing a brilliant job on the bag as always.

We go again next year. 👊🏼

Semi-finals complete this morning at the Nottinghamshire PGA Match Play Championship at Worksop Golf Club with Tom Warnock and Callum Fern earning their place in the final.

The final will be played on a later date — one to look forward to 🏆
