Year 5 had an exciting trip to the South Downs Planetarium on Friday! 🌍✨🚀

Our adventure began with a train journey to Chichester...including the children’s first experience of train delays and cancellations! Despite the disruption, we arrived safely and had an amazing day exploring all things space!

During the visit, the children learned about constellations, the solar system, eclipses, the International Space Station, meteors and meteorites and so much more. One of the highlights of the day was visiting the incredible “Star Theatre”, where the children experienced what a true night sky looks like filled with stars and constellations overhead. We also had the exciting opportunity to hold real meteorites! ☄️

We are incredibly grateful to the BlueSpark Foundation for funding this entire trip and giving our children such a fantastic opportunity to experience and learn about space in such an engaging and memorable way.

The children represented the school brilliantly and showed great resilience throughout the journey. A fantastic experience for all involved! ✨

Today the children were treated to some exciting and interactive science assemblies with Ted Hill from the Royal Institution! 🔬✨

The children were amazed by the demonstrations and scientific surprises throughout the sessions, which sparked lots of curiosity and excitement across the school. Many were especially excited to hear that Ted was recently seen on Britain’s Got Talent too! 🌟

A huge thank you to Ted for inspiring our young scientists and bringing science to life in such a fun and engaging way!
