AI-generated content, cloned voices, deepfake videos and fabricated screenshots are making it harder for young people to recognise what is genuine online.

Our latest guide supports parents, carers and educators in helping children build the confidence and critical thinking skills needed to question digital content.

The guide explores:
• How AI-generated content and deepfakes can appear convincing
• Why familiar voices, polished presentation and repeated claims should not automatically be trusted
• Risks linked to fake accounts, impersonation and misinformation
• The importance of source-checking and verifying messages through another route
• How adults can respond when harmful or deceptive content targets a child

With clear, practical advice, this resource helps adults strengthen digital literacy and support safer, more informed online experiences.

It's been an incredible summer at Linaker Primary School's HAF Summer Camp! ☀️🎉

Over the past four weeks, our children have enjoyed a fantastic range of activities, made new friendships, developed new skills and created memories that will last long after the summer holidays.

From sports and team challenges to arts, crafts and exciting enrichment activities, every day has been filled with fun, laughter and learning. Most importantly, it has been wonderful to see so many smiling faces, growing confidence and children supporting one another throughout the programme.

A huge thank you to our dedicated staff, activity providers and partners who have worked so hard to make this year's camp such a success. We would also like to thank all of the families who supported the programme and helped make it such a positive experience for our children.

We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part and can't wait to welcome our children back for another exciting school year ahead!

While these tools can create opportunities for learning and creativity, they also introduce important safeguarding, wellbeing and learning considerations.

Our latest guide supports parents, carers and educators in understanding how AI chatbots work and how to help young people use them responsibly.

The guide explores:
• Inaccurate information and the need for critical evaluation
• Inappropriate content and age-related concerns
• Academic dishonesty and over-reliance
• Emotional dependency and blurred boundaries
• Data privacy risks and safe use of settings

With clear, practical advice, this resource helps adults support safe, balanced and informed AI use.

Today marks two years since the unimaginable events of 29th July 2024.

For our Churchtown Primary School family, this day will always hold profound sadness. We remember with love the three beautiful girls whose lives were so cruelly taken: Alice, Bebe and Elsie. Alice and Bebe will forever be part of our Churchtown family, and we hold all three girls, their families and loved ones close in our hearts. We also think of the children, staff and families who survived that day, and of everyone across our school and the wider Southport community whose lives were changed forever.

Over the past two years, we have witnessed extraordinary courage, kindness and compassion. Together, we have supported one another through the darkest of times, finding strength in our community and hope in our children.

While the pain of such a loss never truly disappears, we continue to move forward with Alice and Bebe’s memories at the heart of all we do. The sound of children laughing and playing in our playground stands as a gentle reminder of the joy they brought to the world and the joy that continues to grow in their memory every single day.

Today, we pause to remember. We send our love to every family, every survivor, every member of staff and everyone whose life was touched by this tragedy. You remain in our thoughts, today and always.

May we continue to choose kindness, cherish one another, and honour Alice, Bebe and Elsie by ensuring that love, hope and joy remain at the heart of our school community.

Southport, Sefton and the Liverpool City Region will fall silent at 3pm today (29th July), to remember all those directly affected by the Southport tragedy.

Our thoughts remain with the families of Alice, Bebe & Elsie, everyone injured physically and psychologically, their families and their loved ones and all those whose lives were changed that day.

This silence will be recognised by Sefton Council and other public bodies across the Liverpool City Region and we ask everyone to join in this silence with us, wherever you find yourself.
