Day 4 of Summer School took our students offsite to Southport Marine Lake's Waterside Lodge for an exciting day of water sports. Students had the fantastic opportunity to take part in a variety of challenges, including kayaking, dragon boating, and sailing. They thoroughly enjoyed learning new skills and taking responsibility for navigating their own boats and kayaks, showing confidence, teamwork, and determination throughout the day. Of course, no water sports day would be complete without a few students ending up in the water! Fortunately, this only added to the fun and laughter, making the experience even more memorable.

Day 3 of Summer School, our students became young scientists for the day, exploring a range of exciting practical experiments. They used Bunsen burners to investigate how different foods burn and measured the temperatures produced, developing their scientific enquiry skills along the way. We may also have some future police detectives among us! Students explored how fingerprints can be identified and analysed, before carrying out chromatography experiments to separate and compare different samples. It was a fantastic day of discovery, investigation, and hands-on learning.

Congratulations to all our Year 11 students who are celebrating fantastic GCSE results yesterday.

We are very proud of our class of 2026, the hard work and determination that they have shown and we are certain they will go onto have bright and prosperous futures.

Headteacher, Miss Gregg said ‘'We are proud of each and every one of our Year 11 students who have demonstrated our core values of Aspire, Challenge and Excel to achieve such strong GCSE results. I would like to thank our dedicated team of staff and our families for supporting them on their Stanley journey. We are proud of the Class of 2026, not just for their results today, but for the fantastic young people they have become and we wish them all the very best in their next chapter. Day 2 of Summer School was packed with creativity, skill-building, and fun! Students explored their creative side in Design Technology, using specialist software to design their very own dream houses. They also put their baking skills to the test by making delicious cakes, and there was plenty of energy left for an exciting game of dodgeball to round off the day.

Day 1 of our Summer School for our new Year 7s and we started the week with a Sports Day. Our students engaged in a mini Olympics which included netball, football and sports hall athletics. After combining all the points tallied throughout the day, it was France who took the gold medals who accumulated 67 points. The students had a fantastic day.

Amazing day at The Open today courtesy of The R&A and Southport Learning Trust. Our golfers got to watch the best players in the world prepare for competition. Thank you to Emma at the R&A for organising the tour of hospitality areas, media centre, Titleist Tour Truck and Players Pavilion. What a fantastic opportunity for our students. A huge well done to the 86 students who competed in the 2026 Stanley World Cup this week. Over two nights, ten countries battled it out to become champions, and the congratulations go to Ivory Coast, who were our eventual winners after beating Portugal on penalties in the final.

Special individual mentions go to Kier, who represented Senegal and was player of the tournament, and Aston of Ivory Coast, who scored the goal of the tournament. Every single game was played in a wonderful spirit, and the PE Department were absolutely ecstatic about our students' engagement.

A huge well done to our amazing Year 8 Sports Leaders who spent the afternoon supporting St John’s C of E Primary School Sports Day.

We love having the opportunity to support our local primary schools and our leaders always do us proud. The team showed great enthusiasm, confidence and encouragement throughout the event, helping the younger students enjoy every activity and making the day a real success. They were fantastic ambassadors for Stanley High, and we couldn’t be prouder of the way they represented our school.
