Strawberry week!

All of my weeks are themed to allow the work to seem new whilst still practising core skills. Children and young people enjoy that every week is different (as well as suggesting new themes!).

We got to half term! This is always such a busy time of year with GCSEs and SATs. Only English Language Paper 2 to go and then I will have slots available to book.

As anyone I tutor will tell you, I love theming my lessons. We've just completed an autumn themed week. This week, we are onto extreme weather. I might crack next week and start Halloween! My students started asking for that as soon as we hit October!

I work with a lot of reluctant writers and it is nearly the end of term, so I have been doing this word association task with most of the children I work with. All they have to do is write down the first word that comes into their head when they see each word prompt. Their answers then make up the word prompts for the next child. You can see how the words have evolved from child to child!

SATs start on Monday. Just remember you are more than a score. You are amazing just the way you are. Do your best; we can't ask any more.
