๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ Eco Club Wins First Prize! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ†

We are thrilled to announce that our Year 1 and Year 2 Eco Club came first in the Southport and District Beekeepers' Bug and Bee Hotel Competition at the Southport Flower Show!

The judges loved our hotel's creative reuse of materials, attractive design, and neat finish. A huge well done to all the children who worked so hard to design and create it.

As winners, we received a book all about bees, a visit from the Southport and District Beekeepers, and a visit to The Beatles Story Museum in Liverpool! ๐ŸŽ‰

We are incredibly proud of our Eco Club members and their fantastic achievement. Well done, everyone! ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™ WELCOME BACK, CHURCHTOWN FAMILIES! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

We hope youโ€™ve all had a wonderful summer filled with sunshine, adventures, fun and precious family time. โ˜€๏ธ

We are so excited to welcome everyone back to school and canโ€™t wait to see you all on Thursday 3rd September! ๐Ÿฅฐ

A very special welcome to all of our new children and families joining the Churchtown community this September. We are delighted to have you with us and canโ€™t wait to get to know you. ๐Ÿ’›

Here are a few little reminders to help us all have a smooth start to the new academic year:

๐Ÿ•ฃ Gates open at 8:30am

On the first day, members of staff will be out on the yard from 8:30am to welcome you, answer any questions and help children find where they need to be.

Please look out for further communication sent via Arbor with information about the doors children will need to use when coming into school and for collection at the end of the day.

If you have any questions or are unsure about anything, please donโ€™t worry โ€” our staff will be on hand to help. ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ‘• Uniform

For the first half term, children can wear either summer or winter uniform โ€” whichever is most comfortable for them.

From Autumn 2, we will move to full winter uniform. โ„๏ธ

๐Ÿท๏ธ Please label everything!

Coats, jumpers, cardigans, water bottles, PE bagsโ€ฆ please make sure everything is clearly named. It really does help when lost items need to find their way home!

โšฝ PE kits

There is no need to bring a PE kit during the first week. Weโ€™ll let you know when PE kits are needed.

๐Ÿ› A little playground reminder

At the start of the school day, please donโ€™t allow children to use the middle playground climbing equipment. This helps us keep the start of the day safe and calm for everyone. The equipment can be accessed at the end of the day with parent/carer guidance and supervision.

And most importantlyโ€ฆ

Come as you are, bring your biggest smiles and letโ€™s make it a brilliant year together! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

We are ready, the classrooms are waiting and the whole Churchtown team are so excited to welcome you all back.

See you Thursday! ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™ Our Churchtown Values ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿˆ Independence
๐Ÿฆ‹ Growth
๐Ÿ Connection
๐ŸŒˆ Acceptance
๐Ÿชบ Joy

Today marks two years since the unimaginable events of 29th July 2024.

For our Churchtown Primary School family, this day will always hold profound sadness. We remember with love the three beautiful girls whose lives were so cruelly taken: Alice, Bebe and Elsie. Alice and Bebe will forever be part of our Churchtown family, and we hold all three girls, their families and loved ones close in our hearts. We also think of the children, staff and families who survived that day, and of everyone across our school and the wider Southport community whose lives were changed forever.

Over the past two years, we have witnessed extraordinary courage, kindness and compassion. Together, we have supported one another through the darkest of times, finding strength in our community and hope in our children.

While the pain of such a loss never truly disappears, we continue to move forward with Alice and Bebeโ€™s memories at the heart of all we do. The sound of children laughing and playing in our playground stands as a gentle reminder of the joy they brought to the world and the joy that continues to grow in their memory every single day.

Today, we pause to remember. We send our love to every family, every survivor, every member of staff and everyone whose life was touched by this tragedy. You remain in our thoughts, today and always.

May we continue to choose kindness, cherish one another, and honour Alice, Bebe and Elsie by ensuring that love, hope and joy remain at the heart of our school community.
