ONLINE ADULT GREEK CLASSES (for beginners, intermediate and advanced Greek)

We are pleased to be able to now offer online adult Greek classes. These will be commencing this month on Wednesdays of term time from 7pm.

Fees will be £75 per term (or £200 per annum if paid in one lump sum at the start of the academic year).

This Saturday (10th of September) marks the beginning of the Greek School academic year and enrolment for new pupils. New pupils please arrive at 10:30am. The traditional small blessing of the waters will be held at 12:15pm. Parents please ensure that pupils are present for the blessing (if children attend the morning session, please wait until the conclusion of the blessing before leaving. If they attend the afternoon session then please arrive 15 minutes earlier). We look forward to seeing you all!

Dear parents, we aim to hold elections for the new school board on Saturday February 26th at 12:30pm.

According to the school governing document, half of the places on the school board are filled by representatives of the Church and ladies auxiliary association whilst the other half (3-5 individuals) must be parents of children enrolled.

If you would like to volunteer to serve on the school board for the next two years while your child or children are enrolled, please message us privately. You can also nominate other parents. Workload will include a monthly meeting plus some administrative tasks and decision making.

Naturally if the volunteers are few, these volunteers may just be considered as appointed without a vote.

St BARBARA'S GREEK SCHOOL RE-OPENS THIS SATURDAY (02/10/21)

Greek School re-opens on Saturday 2nd October from 10:30am. Existing and new pupils will be enrolled on the day. For further details please email [email protected].

ST BARBARA'S GREEK SCHOOL - TERM DATES AND FEES

The academic year for St Barbara’s Greek School comprises 36 teaching sessions. Half-term dates and School holidays are not shown on the table. Children can enrol once they are in Year 1 of UK mainstream schools (ages 5-6). Please also take note of the annual fees for the 2021/2022 academic year. Adult classes are not being offered presently.

1 child: £300
2 children: £400
3 children: £450
4th child and any additional children: Extra £50 per child

Although these fees represent a significant increase from the previous Greek School fees, they are still less than one quarter of the fees one would expect to pay for private tuition in the Greek language. We ask that fees are paid in full by January 2022. For any family experiencing financially difficulties or an inability to meet the required fee commitment please speak with Fr Panayiotis or Mr Panikos Toumbas. We look forward to welcoming you on Saturday October 2nd from 10:30am onwards. Enrolment forms will be available on the day. Covid guidelines will also follow shortly.
