It may have been a few years since you left us for your next adventure, but we hope some of that confidence, curiosity and courage that began here is with you today.

A wonderful afternoon of cricket and Alleyn Court community spirit!
The annual Alleyn Court Alumni vs Westcliff Cricket Club fixture returned to Chalkwell Park as part of Westcliff CC Cricket Week.
Alleyn Court opened the batting, posting an impressive 264 for 8 from 40 overs, with standout performances from:
🏏 Nick Lockhart — 57
🏏 George Currel — 54
🏏 David Mackay — 37 not out
Westcliff CC successfully chased the total, reaching 265 for 4 from 35 overs to secure the win.
While the result went Westcliff’s way, the occasion was a fantastic opportunity to see so many Alleyn Court alumni come together again for this much-loved annual fixture.
Thank you to everyone who played, supported and helped make the day such an enjoyable celebration of cricket, friendship and lasting school connections.

Some of the biggest beginnings are found in the smallest moments.
The first time a child walks in without holding quite so tightly to a grown-up’s hand. The first new friendship. The first question that becomes an exciting discovery. The first moment they proudly say, “I did it!”
At Alleyn Court Nursery, these everyday milestones are celebrated as children grow in confidence, independence and curiosity.
Montessori principles sit at the heart of our Early Years curriculum. Children are encouraged to make choices, learn through purposeful activity and develop practical skills at their own pace, supported by attentive adults and a thoughtfully prepared environment.
Our carefully tailored approach combines comforting routines with the freedom to play, explore and follow children’s interests. From stories, sounds and numbers to specialist music, PE and adventures in our accredited Forest School, every experience helps build strong foundations for future learning.
As part of Alleyn Court Prep School, children also become familiar with the people, surroundings and rhythms of school life, supporting a smooth and positive transition into Reception when the time comes.
Experience our Nursery during Discovery Week from 28 September to 2 October 2026, or arrange a private tour at any time during term.

What if an open day felt less like a presentation and more like a real day at school?
No single morning. No carefully staged snapshot. Just the opportunity to experience the atmosphere, energy and everyday moments that make a school what it is.
During Discovery Week, prospective families can see our school in action from Monday 28 September to Friday 2 October 2026.
Hear the questions being asked in classrooms. See confidence growing through sport, music, creativity and outdoor learning. Meet the teachers who know their pupils as individuals. Most importantly, experience the happiness, curiosity and sense of belonging that cannot always be captured in a prospectus.
Choosing a school is a significant decision. We believe families deserve the time and space to discover how it truly feels.
Join us for a Personal Discovery Tour and experience Alleyn Court through the eyes of our pupils.

Preparing for Reception does not mean rushing childhood.
It means helping children feel confident enough to ask questions, independent enough to try things for themselves and secure enough to embrace the excitement of something new.
In Alleyn Court’s Nursery, our Bumblebees class enjoy a thoughtful balance of purposeful learning and joyful play. Early literacy and numeracy are introduced naturally through stories, conversation, creative activities and hands-on discovery, while children continue to explore the interests that make them uniquely curious.
They build friendships, become familiar with school routines and develop the communication and independence that will support them when they take their next step into Reception.
As part of Alleyn Court Prep School, children experience familiar faces, specialist teaching, outdoor learning and the wider life of the school. This makes the eventual transition into Reception feel less like a leap into the unknown and more like the next chapter of an adventure they have already begun.

What does Alleyn Court look like through the eyes of a child?
It is a science lesson filled with questions. A woodland waiting to be explored. A new skill discovered on the sports field. A story brought to life. A teacher who knows when to encourage, challenge or simply listen.
This September, we are inviting prospective families to experience all of this for themselves during Discovery Week.
From Monday 28 September to Friday 2 October 2026, Personal Discovery Tours will offer you the opportunity to step inside an ordinary school day and see Alleyn Court as our pupils experience it: joyful, purposeful and full of possibility.
Explore our beautiful 16-acre grounds, visit our classrooms, meet our community and discover how Curiosity, Courage and Compassion shape every child’s journey.
Open days, reimagined.

One of our favourite moments from the end of term was seeing our older pupils sharing Mr Men and Little Miss stories with our youngest children.
There was plenty of joy, wonderful storytelling and a shared love of books. A simple but special way to rest in the shade, inspire confident readers and build friendships across our school community.
✨ Sometimes the smallest stories create the biggest smiles.

As the temperatures soared during the final week of term, our fantastic School Council came up with the perfect way to cool everyone down while raising some funds for our school charities at the same time – a Teachers vs Pupils Water Fight!
With plenty of laughter, soaked teachers (and pupils!) and lots of friendly competition, it was a brilliant way to celebrate the end of another wonderful year together.
We're still not quite sure who enjoyed it more... the pupils or the teachers! 🤔💧
We hope you're all continuing to enjoy the sunshine and making the most of the summer holidays! ☀️💙💗
