Having either enjoyed, or shown an interesting in, the Alleyn Court Former Pupils Golf Day in June this year, I am writing to you so you can get the date in your diaries for 2017.

It will be held again at Thorpe Hall Golf Club on Monday 5th June 2017.

We had a most enjoyable day in June this year and many thanks to all those who turned out and played. I think everyone agreed it was a tremendous day and we are hoping to build on the numbers in 2017.

It is open to anyone who was a former pupil at Alleyn Court, or who teaches or taught there, and the broad format of the day will be meeting at 9.00 - 9.30 for a coffee, teeing off in 3 balls from about 10.00 playing a stableford off full handicap, followed by a lunch and prize-giving.

So.............please put the date in your diaries; and please, also, either pass this on to other Old Alleyn Court pupils, or tell others about it who may be interested, and I look forward to hearing from them.

As we start a new school year, a warm welcome to Rupert Snow, Alleyn Court's new Headmaster. He has thoroughly enjoyed his first couple of weeks and the current AC community has given me a very warm welcome.

This year will see a concerted campaign to get in touch with as many former pupils as possible. Your help is needed so please send me your contact information and, importantly, encourage others to do the same. I can be contacted by email - [email protected]

Thank you

We are very sad to learn of the death of former pupil, Ian Inskip. He was a remarkable man as can be seen in this obituary which appeared in The Daily Telegraph - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/obituaries/2016/07/20/commander-ian-inskip-attacked-by-an-exocet-missile-in-the-falkla/

Commander Ian Inskip, who has died aged 72, saved his ship after an Exocet attack during the Falklands War.

Many thanks to Jeremy Lawford who sent this link of 2 former AC pupils opening the batting for Essex in 1965. The 2 batsmen are Trevor Bailey and John Wilcox - http://player.bfi.org.uk/film/watch-norfolk-v-essex-opening-of-the-cricket-season-1965/
