💚Could you be a Mini First Aid trainer?💚

Initially this would be taking over some of our 2 hour baby and child first aid classes. Eventually, you would be working towards running classes for children and accredited workplace qualification classes.

⭐️About You⭐️

✔️Ideally you would have a full First Aid at work certificate and Paediatric First Aid Certificate (or be willing to get them).

✔️ Have (or be willing and able to achieve) a clear Enhanced DBS check, and be on the Update service.

✔️If you are from a nursing, first aid, teaching, paramedic or cabin crew background - that’s a bonus, but absolutely not essential.

✔️You MUST be a confident & ENGAGING communicator, have high standards of customer service and people skills, and be passionate about helping people to learn vital life saving skills.

✔️You must have a full driving licence, access to a vehicle & be happy to run sessions across Essex.

✔️You need to have regular availability in the evenings and weekends & be able to share those available dates with us a few months in advance.

💚We are particularly interested in hearing from under represented groups💚

✔️It would be SUPER if you had a level 3 (or equivalent) teaching and training qualification (but not absolutely necessary at this point).

* Excellent rates of pay
* Plenty of support
* Flexible work
* Going home knowing you have taught people to save lives!

👀Please note :- this is a self employed freelance trainer position. You would be responsible for your own tax & national insurance.

Two fractured wrists is not how I planned to start 2026! (And on Christmas Day!) 🤕

Running the First Aid company, being a mum of two boys and working on the side for another company… this is really not ideal!

That said, life has a way of teaching us lessons we never planned for. Breaking both wrists has given me first-hand experience of exactly what a fracture feels like — the pain, the shock, the fear, and the long hospital process that follows. It’s been eye-opening, especially as someone who teaches others how to respond in these moments.

This experience has already changed how I teach first aid. I now bring even more empathy, understanding, and reassurance to children and adults who experience broken or fractured bones — because I truly get it.

The good news? Recovery is going well, and I expect to be fully back up and running by February 💪
You can also expect online baby and child first aid courses launching towards the end of February 2026. We are still talking bookings for private courses, work place courses and school bookings.

Thank you for all the support, patience, and kind messages — they mean more than you know 💚
Sometimes the hardest moments make us better at what we do.

Please read! So important living by the coast that we are knowledgable on these rules ⛑️

HM Coastguard Southend were tasked at 15.21 on 2nd July to 3 persons potentially in danger of getting cut off by the tide off West Beach whilst walking out towards the Mulberry Harbour.

Coastguard Officers monitored the progress of the 3 persons which looked like 2 teenagers and an adult from a distance and, half way out towards the direction of the mulberry harbour, the persons about turned and continued to walk towards the shore in a diagonal westerly direction which is the correct line back and 30mins before low tide - so was the correct decision.

Note: Photo shows the persons walking back and not where they were originally spotted.

So false alarm with good intent.

We would like to remind anyone thinking of walking out to visit this historic feature in the Thames Estuary of the dangers if you are not familiar with our local tides and mudflats.

The Mulberry is a military structure and you are forbidden to climb on it.

1. Check times of tides when at the beach.

2. Make sure you are properly dressed with shoes for walking in water and over sharp shells.

3.The Mulberry is over a mile off shore.

4. The published time of low tide is an estimate. There are lots of variable and the tide in the shipping channel turns half an hour before you notice it over the sands.

5. Despite it looking flat, the sands have channels in them, and pose dangers.

6. Shallower water is found to the west. And if advice is ignored and you get yourself into trouble, walk diagonally towards the Halfway House until in safe depth.

7. The Mulberry is on a raised sandbank, Water will come in around the back, filling channels you cant see and cut you off.

Should you see anyone in trouble on or near the coast, don’t hesitate to dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard, you could save someone’s life! 🚨
