Reflections, puzzles and plenty of curiosity in Year 3! 🔎

Our young scientists have been exploring the fascinating world of mirrors by trying their hand at mirror writing, navigating tricky mirror mazes and investigating which surfaces reflect light best.

There were lots of surprises, challenges and exciting discoveries along the way as the children tested, observed and learned through hands-on exploration.

Who knew mirrors could be so much fun? 🔎😃

Due to the extreme weather predicted, we will be offering an early pick-up time tomorrow, between 1.20 and 1.30 (when the gates will be open to parents).
We will assess the risk and need to do this on a daily basis. At the moment, Thursday may be the cooler of the remaining days this week, with Friday potentially the hottest.

School remains open to all children who are not collected. We will take all safety precautions for children who remain, utilising our cooler areas where possible (as we have no air conditioning systems).

All pupils should be properly prepared for the weather. Children without hats will need to be in shaded areas during breaks from class.

Due to the success today, the ice lolly sale will be back tomorrow.

Following the Met Office amber heat warning, we will be taking extra measures to keep children safe and comfortable in school.

✅ Children may wear PE kit throughout the hot weather.

🌞 Suncream
• Please apply before school (all-day suncream is recommended).
• Children may bring labelled suncream to reapply themselves during the day.
• Staff are unable to apply suncream.

💧 Water Bottles
• All children must bring a full water bottle each day.
• Water bottles can be refilled throughout the school.

🧢 Sunhats
• All children should bring a sunhat.
• Hats that shade the face and neck are ideal.

🌳 Keeping Cool
• Additional shaded areas are available across the school.
• extra indoor spaces will be opened up at lunchtimes.
• Children will be encouraged to play in shaded areas.
