🎉 A Huge Thank You! 🎉
Southchurch High School would like to extend our sincere thanks to Adventure Island UK and Sealife Adventure for their incredible generosity in providing a wonderful day out for 30 of our students.
The trip was a reward for our Year 7 students who have consistently demonstrated outstanding attitudes to learning, excellent behaviour, strong attendance, and a commitment to our school values throughout the year.
The day created many lasting memories and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended. Opportunities like these make a real difference and provide a fantastic way to celebrate the hard work and achievements of our young people.
Thank you once again to Adventure Island and Sealife Adventure for your kindness and continued support of our local community. It is greatly appreciated.

Yesterday we hosted our first House Festival rewards day. The atmosphere across the school was genuinely fantastic. From the colour run and glow disco to the inflatables, costume competition and movie experiences, our students were fully engaged and clearly had an amazing day. Most importantly, they demonstrated the kindness, teamwork, encouragement and sense of belonging that we are working so hard to build at Southchurch High School.

Well done, Mrs Gibson! With a huge 153 points awarded to students for the correct use of our Word of the Week (AGREEABLE) last week, she has completely dominated the competition this week to be our final staff winner for this academic year. Let's see how many correct uses of our last WOTW - UTILISE - we can fit in today and tomorrow! From September, the student competition will also be weekly, with prizes to be won, so all to play for. Remember to keep reading over the summer, Southchurch!

A huge congratulations to Mr. Glover who has recently been recommended for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) by Teach First. Mr. Glover will be continuing his teaching journey at Southchurch High School as an Early Career Teacher (ECT) of History. We look forward to supporting Mr. Glover in his professional development.

On Thursday we took some Year 8 students to Anglia Ruskin University as part of the Future Ready Modern Work Experience project; funded by JPMorganChase Foundation and facilitated by the Greater Essex Careers Hub.

During the visit, students participated in a range of engaging sessions designed to broaden their understanding of future career opportunities and the skills needed for the modern workplace. They also enjoyed a guided tour of the university campus, giving them a valuable insight into higher education and university life.

This week 16 students completed the first exam and training for the Youth Health Champions Scheme. When finished they will all receive a GCSE level equivalent qualification.
The students will be running projects across the school next term to help our students become healthier and know where to access key support services.
A highlight was being able to meet and question Krishna, Southend's Director of Public Health. He will be taking our students suggestions back to the council this week.
