আজ ২৬শে মার্চ, মহান স্বাধীনতা দিবস৷ আমরা স্বাধীনতার ৫১ তম বছরে পদার্পন করেছি।
ইতিহাসে এই দিনটি বাঙালির শৃঙ্খল মুক্তির দিন, বাংলার বুকে লাল-সবুজের পতাকা ওড়ানোর দিন। পরাধীনতার শৃঙ্খল ভেঙে ১৯৭১ সালের এই দিনে বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা ঘোষিত হয়েছিল। বিশ্বের বুকে স্বাধীন অস্তিত্ব ঘোষণা করেছিল বীর বাঙালি। দীর্ঘ ৯ মাসের মুক্তিযুদ্ধে এক সাগর রক্তের বিনিময়ে স্বাধীনতা অর্জন তার চূড়ান্ত পরিণতি। রক্তক্ষয়ী মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সূচনার সেই গৌরব ও অহঙ্কারের দৃপ্ত শপথের দিন আজ।
এই গৌরবের দিনে বাংলার স্বাধীনতার জন্য যাদের রক্তের নদী বয়ে গিয়েছিল বাংলার বুকে, যাদের আত্মত্যাগের বিনিময়ে আজ আমরা ঘুমাতে পারি আরামের ঘুম, 'স্টুডেন্ট কাউন্সিল' সেই সকল শহিদদের শ্রদ্ধাভরে স্মরণ করছে।
আমাদের প্রত্যেকের মননে স্বাধীনতা, হৃদয়ে বিশ্বাস, আত্মায় গর্ব এবং রক্তে থাকুক দেশের প্রতি ভালোবাসা।
