Back with a bang this September, with a new project but I need your help…

Do you know of a care home or school that would love to be involved in this fully funded project? Tag them or send them this post and I can pop over some more details!

✨ Southend Grand-Craft Club: Bridging Generations Through Making ✨

Can creativity combat loneliness? We think so! The Southend Grand-Craft Club is an exciting new 8-week project that pairs local primary school children with older residents from a nearby care home as Grand-Craft Buddies.Together, they will sit down face-to-face to share stories of Southend’s past while collaborating on beautiful, accessible art and craft projects, from local memory canvases to handmade clay gardens. This project tackles social isolation in our elderly, builds empathy and real-world social confidence in our youth and brings traditional community spirit back to our streets. The project will culminate in a community Afternoon Tea showcase, celebrating friendship across generations and leaving behind a permanent piece of community art.

Thank you to Southend-on-Sea City Council and The Big Sparks Fund for making this happen. 🥰

Fabulous news as we near the end of the summer holidays… finalists in the Essex Mums awards for Best School Holiday Camp.

With (deliberately!) such small numbers in our classes, every vote from you really does count 🙏.

Wow - what an incredible weekend!

We have crafted with hundreds and hundreds of families, making everything from sparkly sunglasses to customised bandanas and the most beautiful dreamcatchers.

I’m still on a high to have partnered with Country Calling Festival UK and received some many amazing comments from parents over the past few days.

A huge thank you to Emily Victoria and Bradley Smith for always embracing my ideas, getting stuck in and making it so easy for me.

And Donna Zanetti (Don) …. Not only did you put on the most ✨ amazing ✨ festival but thank you for taking a chance of independent, local businesses like That Kid Life. In the words of Randy Houser, it’s been a damn blast.
