Our pupils had a fantastic time welcoming Chante Timothy, author and illustrator of the Supa Nova books, to our school yesterday.

Throughout the day, children took part in exciting drawing workshops, explored the creative process behind storytelling and illustration, and enjoyed asking lots of thoughtful questions about becoming an author and generating imaginative ideas. Chante inspired our pupils to believe in the power of their creativity and showed them how stories can come to life through both words and art. To round off a wonderful visit, children had the opportunity to have their own copies of the book personally signed by the author after school.

It was a brilliant opportunity and an unforgettable experience for the children, leaving them inspired, motivated, and excited to continue their own creative journeys. Thank you, Chanté, for such a memorable day!

It has been an emotional couple of days, but what a wonderful way to celebrate and send off our incredible Year 6 pupils.

We are so proud of everything they have achieved and the amazing young people they have become. As they begin their next chapter, we wish each and every one of them every success and happiness in the future.

You will all be greatly missed. Good luck, Year 6! 🌟

PE KITS AND ENGLAND FOOTBALL TEAM SUPPORT

With the lovely warm weather set to continue, we are delighted to let you know that children may wear their PE kits to school again throughout this coming week if they wish.

Please ensure your child comes to school with a named sun hat and a named water bottle each day. We also kindly ask that sun cream is applied before they arrive at school to help keep everyone safe and comfortable in the sunshine.

To celebrate England reaching the FIFA World Cup semi-final, we’re inviting children to show their support on Wednesday by coming to school wearing their England football kit or anything red, white or blue – the colours of the England strip. We’re looking forward to seeing the school filled with patriotic colours as we cheer the team on together!

We hope everyone enjoys a fun-filled and sunny final week of term!

On Tuesday afternoon, the children who finished in the top three at their Borough Sports field events competed in the Super Sports Finals, bringing together the top three athletes from each of the four borough divisions.

Twelve of our pupils proudly represented the school in the long jump, javelin, ball throw and shot put competitions. All of them performed brilliantly and represented the school with determination and pride.

We also had some outstanding medal-winning achievements:

Y5 Girls 3rd in the shot put.

Y4 Boys finished 3rd in the standing long jump.

Year 3 Tennis Ball Throw Champion of Southend, taking 1st place and earning the title of the best Year 3 thrower across the whole borough.

A huge well done to all of our athletes for their fantastic efforts and for representing the school so brilliantly.
