In the garden this week, we have set up a 'Ready, Steady, Go!' activity using guttering slopes and a variety of vehicles. The children can explore movement, speed, and cause and effect while enjoying the sunny weather safely under the shade of the tree.

As they experiment with different vehicles and slopes, they will be encouraged to make predictions, solve problems, and develop their understanding of how things move. This activity also supports communication, cooperation, attention and gross motor development through active outdoor play.

This week, the children can explore our 3D Gem Blocks through a matching and construction activity. They have the opportunity to identify colours and shapes, recreating patterns, as well as designing their own structures. This activity supports the development of block play skills, mathematical thinking and creativity.

To encourage our younger children to take part in mark-making activities, we have introduced creative cars that leave marks as they move! Our little friends are enjoying driving their cars around our town, creating colourful marks and trails along the way. This fun activity helps develop early writing skills, hand-eye coordination and creativity through play.

Continuing with another of our Mr Adventure activities, the children will be exploring the creative table this week as they design and create their own safe under-the-sea scenes.

Using a variety of materials and media, they will be encouraged to create seaweed, coral, shells, fish, jellyfish, and much more. As they explore, the children will think creatively about how to use different resources and independently select the materials they need, helping to build confidence, creativity and continue to support their growing independence.

This week, we are exploring Mr Adventure activities as we begin to understand and learn how to create a happy and healthy world.

Our water tray is starting the week clean and safe for sea life, but we wonder... What might happen as the week goes on?

It's all about teeth this week!

Oral hygiene is an important part of keeping ourselves healthy. Did you know that 1 in 5 children in England has experienced tooth decay by the age of 5? This is a concerning statistic, and we at the nursery want to support the children in understanding why brushing their teeth is so important.

Throughout the week, we will be taking part in activities and sharing stories that promote good oral hygiene. The children are learning that they should brush their teeth twice a day for two minutes each time.

Please support us by continuing these positive habits at home and encouraging your child to brush their teeth every morning and evening.
