Today marks the centenary of the loss of the USS Jacob Jones, the first American destroyer sunk by enemy action in the First World War. The MAT has created a booklet which tells the story of the ship, its wartime career and sinking any pays tribute to those 66 men who were lost with the vessel, which sank over 30 miles south of the Isles of Scilly. Underwater Stone Age Site Was Fisherman's Paradise Along with the original fish traps that led researchers to the site, the archaeologists found a 9,000-year-old pick axe made out of elk antlers.
