The fabulous hosted an Introduction to Gouache class during the last week of the Easter Half-term and we had such positive feedback that we just had to share with YOU!

All the attendees scored 9 and 10 out of 10! 🤩
Attendees enjoyed learning a new type of painting material and the different techniques that they could explore with the medium 🎨

There was a lovely, friendly, and inspiring atmosphere ✨😊
We also made a great cup of Tea ☕

The attendees also mentioned that Amy had a very calm manner and that made them feel at ease, beyond entering the Dart 😌

The guests enjoyed the class so much that they never wanted their experience to end! 😲

This is going to be egg-stremely good fun!

On Wednesday 5th, the children will take part in an exciting Easter Egg trail, finding clues to win their chocolatey prize! Inspired by the trail, the children will decorate their own Easter Eggs using pretty pastel-coloured paints! They'll then take a look at 'A string of eggs' by Pierre Roy and beautiful Faberge Eggs and will be inspired to paint their own hanging Easter eggs, exploring bright and vibrant gouache paints.

The children will then make their own ‘egg-cellent’ art piece inspired by Donald Sultan’s ‘Black Eggs and Roses May 22 2000’ using fabric and coloured papers.

We'll end the day making fun egg sculptures using papier-mache and acrylic paint!

Our fabulous Art Assistant, Sarah, writes and delivers our Art Activities Programme with the assistance of our fab art support worker, Alice. They really are the dream team! 😃

The children have so much fun, not only do they get super creative and learn lots but most importantly, they feel at ease and are well cared for.

On day 2 of our Easter Arts Activities we'll be exploring all things RABBITS!

Inspired by Jeff Koons 'Rabbit' Sculpture which sold for £71 million, and Miroslaw Balka's 'After-Easter Show' exhibition, the children will make their own Easter Bunnies, using air-drying clay.

They'll make mirror paper rabbit sculptures and beautiful rabbit paintings and drawings exploring mediums such as charcoal, chalk, metallic paints, and pastels.

At the end of the day, the children will be painting rabbit-inspired greetings cards to give to their friends or families just in time for Easter!

We are excited to share the first day of our Children’s Easter Arts Activities Programme 🐥

The children will be exploring their own Easter adventure ideas through story-telling, book-making, illustration and painting.

A great opportunity for the children to let their imaginations run wild. The Dart team will give them an example of The Chick and The Egg on their quest to find the Sacred Planet in their little yellow rocket!

The children will then explore their own ideas, create stories, illustrate elements of their stories with vibrant gouache paints and fine liner pens to bring their characters and scenes to life!

We’ll finish the day making cardboard puppets of their imaginary characters!
