We took the time to concentrate on our bodies this week! We learnt about our body parts inside and out and our senses by having a yummy food tasting where we could look, touch, smell and taste the foods. We also learnt about our skeletons, oral hygiene, germs and handwashing 💪🦶👃👂

Our focus this week was road safety! 🚘 🚦🚸

We learnt about be bright be seen, traffic lights and the red and green man, we know that red means stop and green means go! We also looked at different road signs and to stop, look & listen when we cross the road. Today we put our learning in to practice and went on a walk around the local area, we used the crossings and waited for the green man before we crossed!

Don’t forget we will still be going outside in the cold weather, so please ensure your child comes to preschool with a NAMED coat, hat and gloves! 🧤

This week we took part in World Nursery Rhyme week by focusing on 5 rhymes for the children to learn.

Nursery rhymes are excellent teaching tools and can help to develop language and literacy skills, numeracy skills, social, physical and emotional skills and they are so much fun! 🕷️ ⭐️ 🧵

This week whizzed by! 🎇

At the beginning of the week we spent lots of time learning about bonfire night, how to be safe by the fire and spoke about fireworks and how they made us feel. We also looked at onomatopoeic words such us pop, crackle and whizz and how these words sounded like fireworks.

At the end of the week we turned our attention to Remberance day and thought about what poppies are and why we wear them!

Remember, Remember the 5th of November! 🎆

Yesterday we made edible sparklers with the children, this was the perfect time to talk to the children about firework safety! 🎇

The children also took home a very important bonfire safety notice to keep them safe today!
