I really need to update and begin to document better 🤦🏼♀️
We’ve taken a step away from traditional learning, life took a sh*tty turn with a housefire wiping our hugely costly stash of home ed stuff, us being temporarily homed, my cancer diagnosis and a move to a permanent home in a sh*tty area.
In between the diagnosis and now, there has been little to zero learning curriculum style, there has been many hours of life living.
Scarlett joined two different theatre groups, she found a singing voice that got her brilliant parts in some fantastic little shows, she performed in CATS the musical at The Point Theatre, she performed at The Mast and The Mayflower too, she danced and acted for Men’s Mental Health week with a dance school, she completed half a GCSE in photography and was unable mentally to complete the second half - but we can pick it up later.
She’s done cookery classes, she’s been taught barista skills and gained certification in both.
She’s skated, my goodness she’s skated so much.
Scarlett started skating just two years ago and she’s completed her levels 1-10 in Skate Excellence, she’s completed her passport of bronze, silver and gold in figure free skating and has completed her passport of bronze and silver so far in ice dance, she’s also decided to take up Skate Excellence Advanced and passed her level 1, she’s competed in three Spin Spiral Jump comps, an artistic comp and even performed Matilda as a group number and her solo as Rapunzel’s I can see the light in Milton Keynes.
She has the next Spin Spiral Jump comp next weekend and then move on to bigger comps and her tests.
We are planning to go back and restart where we left off educationally and see if the long break has helped, I know it won’t involve the small classes again or face to face tutors, not right now at least.
I will update with pics and I’ll attempt at the regular stuff 😂😂
